Therefore, members of the public and press should not be prevented from doing so. 2.We need cooperation with the media and amateur photographers. We must acknowledge that citizen journalism is a feature of modern life and police officers are now photographed and filmed more than ever. 4. Unnecessarily restricting photography, whether for the casual tourist or professional is unacceptable and it undermines public confidence in the police service.

When I was there it was a staunchly conservative area and that showed in the attitude of the police and the punishment by the courts, thank god hanging was abolished before my time! They tried to set me up once using a lying witness but I confronted him in front of other people and they all turned up in court in my defense. The happy look on the sergeants face soon turned to blubber when the lying witness stood up in the court and said it was all a pack of lies and nothing to do with me! He had spotted the faces and knew the game was up! Public eye did an audit of Catterick Police station a few months ago, shame you could not have done one while up that way.

They just get more and more irritating, more and more juvenile, and more and more pompous. Our police forces are not worth the huge sums we pay for them, and somebody in government is going to have to start a radical retraining programme to make them behave WITHIN the law. We're all sick to death of this petty, threatening behaviour, and it's no wonder the gulf between public and police continues to widen.
I don't get it time and time again they have to come out with the same crap even when they have an idea why you're there. Instead of being a bit friendly they have to make themselves look stupid.
