  • Porto Cheli (or Heli) is a Greek resort town on the far southern tip of Argolis. It is becoming a Celebrity Favourite on Mainland Greece
It is ideally located for ferry travel to The Islands of Spetses and Hydra, being only 10 minutes from Spetses, and 1 hour 10 minutes from Hydra.
The town is popular with Greeks from Athens, as it is a good bas to leave a car for a few days to visit these islands. It is easily accessible from Athens, and Nafplio, being only 2 hours 10 minutes on a ferry from Athens, or 2 hours 40 minutes drive.
Nafplio, and the surrounding tourist attractions such as Mycenae, Argos, and the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus are all within an hours drive.
Cars can be hired in Porto Cheli, and the town is well known for Scuba Diving, and Yachting.
If you wish to HIRE A CAR to Explore Greece I suggest you use a comparison site.

They offer competitive rates, NO hidden costs, free cancellation and 24/7 customer service. Check them out using this link; www.discovercars.com/?a_aid=M...
It is a good base for exploring the Peloponnese, should you wish to do so.
Given the accessible ferry from Athens, it can even be visited as a day trip from Athens, along with Spetses and Hydra.
There are also many very expensive hotel complexes located around Porto Cheli, including Amanzoe, where a Glass Onion, the film with Daniel Craig was filmed. Porto Cheli often has celebrities passing through in the summer.

Huge fan of all your videos and knowledge... Keep up the great work. My family and I have our hearts set on buying a place in the Pelopeneese. Unfortunately for us, everytime we think we've found the right area, another beauty pops up. I think in and around Nafplion (30mins away) is now our preferred choice. We've pretty much explored all of it, since our campervan trip 12 years ago! What a wonderful place.

That is really kind of you. We have had a place in the area since 2010, but only started living there full time a couple of years ago, when work allowed etc. It is a great area. Only advice I can offer is pick a place by the sea, why live in that area unless you can walk to the beach!! There are a few places within 30 mins, but only Nafplio has life in the winter months. The other area I love is around Kalamata, which believe it or not is not really any further drive time wise. I spend July and August with family in the UK, so have to do some UK vids too, I hope you will watch and enjoy those.... then more Greek vids after

Excellent guide, clearly presented, as I thought Porto Cheli is mainly a yachting place, ferry terminal etc. Planning to do a cycle trio round the South Argolis. Very helpful. 😅 David
