@@MrLintGuy I absolutely want your job it's so satisfying okay here's my question does everybody know what you're supposed to clean the lint tray that's like common sense 101😂😂
Number one rule with personal dryers: always check the lint trap to see if it needs to be cleaned before turning on the dryer. After each load finishes, clean the lint trap. My mother taught me this rule and I've never had an issue with the dryer vents getting clogged.
even so the lines can still get clogged up over time check em out to be sure, can help dry your clothes faster to clean it out even if its not as bad as in video
the moisture from your clothes will condense on the vent lines and will collect dust no matter how clean you keep the lint trap. Gotta have them cleaned
My mom taught me the same thing. It felt like someone picked up my reality and moved it elsewhere when I learned that not everyone does this. Mom always did it, and her simple answer when asked why was "because if you don't, it'll catch fire". Mind you, skipping one lint screen cleaning between loads one time shouldn't hurt, but I took that crap seriously because we lived in a trailer. Now it's a habit, makes the dryer function better, and makes a fire less likely to happen for longer. Now I have communal machines I share with everyone else in the building and it drives me nuts not knowing if the laundry machine maintenance dude took the back panel off to clean that out, too lol.
Yes I was a house keeper I used to do that because the handyman never have time I ask the lady for the supplies I need but I she never paid any extra money for that until her husband found out he started paying for that he was a fair man I did it because I love to do my work perfectly neat and love to learn new stuff
Oh my word!!! He’s lucky the house didn’t burn down! I clean my vent every month, I thought everyone did. 😮 I also clean the lint trap after every use. My Nana taught me that and da taught me how to clean the vent and back of dryer. That was phenomenal to see though!
He needed a hero, and actually this could’ve caused the dryer to explode which would burn the house down. You’re a hero :) Edit: Thanks for 400 likes y’all 💕
😮I was thinking about your channel yesterday when I cleaned my daughter's dryers lint trap 😂! I don't know how her house didn't burn down, seriously 😐... thanks for sharing enjoy your day 🎉
We had a few local dryer fires in our area and looked up how to do this ourselves. Y'all, it takes like 10 minutes to clean out your dryer vents and make sure everything's working properly. Don't lose your home over easy routine maintenance.
My sister just had hers cleaned and it lint was literally rock hard. The man said moisture had gotten into the duct. It was super bad. She’s had the house for 20 years and never had them cleaned. So bad.
@@angellambert1070 she told me that is usually cost under $100 but since the blockage that she had in the duct had to be cut out and then put back together it was $150. It took them 2 hours!! She’ll be doing it every 6 months and it should be about $75. Please don’t wait. It was very serious. The man was shocked that her house hadn’t caught on fire.
@@angellambert1070 Don't know the cost. Do know my neighbor has a contract for annual service. She gets a reduction in homeowner's insurance b/c her fire hazard is reduced. Lint is very flammable.
When u put the camera in the pipe for us to see how dirty it was, I was holding my breath because I actually thought my head was inside and I didn’t want to inhale the dust! 😂😂😂
OMG I’ve just been reading about drying clothes in the United States and there are just 19 states that give their citizens “the right” to line/air dry their clothes 😳 Whole areas/suburbs/towns don’t allow homes to have an outdoor clothesline because it doesn’t look good and might lower the areas housing prices. I’ve always dried my clothes/laundry outside especially when the weather is good and on racks inside if it’s winter or rainy etc. I lived in an apartment for a while that had no outdoor clothes lines and each apartment had a dryer installed. After a while I noticed a real difference in how my clothes smelled. The sunshine kills stuff that the dryer just didn’t. Sunshine dried sheets is just the BEST thing and direct sunlight is nature’s original bacteria killer.
Yeah in the UK it’s rare to find someone who actually has a dryer usually because of small apartments and kitchens. We just use airers inside the house when it rains or when its cold and outside drying when it’s warmer weather. Safe to say the clothes might only be outside 3 months out of the year 💀😭
In Germany dryers are very common however I dont know anyone who still uses these types of dryers. Our house is over 20 years old and doesnt even have a shaft like that. When I watched these the first time around I had no idea what they were.
We got an attachment for our hepa vaccum here at Stanley steemer that’s perfect for the air hose and Simultaneously sucking up the dust so u don’t have to make a mess
I have that attachment and use it when I’m not filming. These videos are made for entertaining purposes only and not intended to be a “how to” or recommended method of cleaning a vent.
This is why I hate the dryer vent going in the wall and up. It's a fire hazard and you can't clean it yourself unlike the one's that go directly through the wall to the other side. Yeah is just out the back door and it makes the back yard smell like clean clothes but at least your house isn't going to catch fire so easy.
I wonder this too, I have a dryer that’s plugged in and that’s it. And the most lint that I remove from it is the little pocket at the front that pops up. There’s no tunnel of dust or anything
I'm surprised that these lint cleaning people don't offer membership rates. Also, insurance should give discounts to homeowners that do preventative measures like this too.
