Haven't watched Fruit Basket, but Shadow and Sonic playing older brother with Amy is an awesome headcanon, I'd love that dynamic tbf. Amy being dully attracted to Sonic yet sticking close to Shadow probably because she's too scared to go talk to Sonic directly, Shadow wanting to make Sonic's life a living hell but also taking care of Amy (and will probably stop being such a jerk to Sonic when he finds out Amy likes him) and Sonic just existing with his weird group of friends but looking out for Amy just as much as Shadow while also believing him and Shadow to be best friends deep down.
I just love Shadow hearing the 2 thinking about hitting on Amy and how she is an air head so she would be perfect and then BAM Shadow is best boy glaring at them as he stands next to her protectively all be it in a “she is mine” pose though I feel that was just to get them to back off even more
