  • We loved Huancayo, Peru and happily stayed here 12 days! Part of why we loved it was our accommodation choice: Huncayo's Hotel Confort. This centrally-located Huancayo hotel ticked all the boxes for us. Having said that, we had a few minor quibbles about our budget hotel room in Huancayo, Peru - see what they are and check out the sudden electrical repair we had to make!

I really liked this room. It is one of the best you two have found. Good Job. The Florescent reading light bulb is old. That's why it blinks, No Worries, It is Safe and its not a Wiring issue. Keep having Fun and I'll keep watching for your Adventures. 😎

Hi Roy! This was indeed a great spot but not a patch on Hotel Ideal in Panama City, Panama! 😉The reading light was a nice little touch and it came in handy so we are happy it finally began working properly. Thanks for continuing to follow our adventures, Roy!

I completely agree with your bed against the wall issue! Was that one of those beds that you cannot push away from the wall? We tend to rearrange furniture as job one. Of course, then we argue about who gets the side table (or use a chair as side table # two). I suspect that that metal tv stand would be a big problem for my height - guaranteed I would bang into it. Aside from that - looks like one of your better finds! Thank you!

At all hours of the day/night we often hear furniture being moved within adjacent hotel rooms - the floor surfaces are usually concrete/tile and the noise from the dragging really reverberates all around. We refer to this as midnight hotel feng shui but never figured people could be moving beds due to them being up against walls. Thank you for shedding some light on that - it certainly makes sense!
The bed in the video could've been moved, however the bedside table was already taking up a bit of space on the way to the bathroom. Many of the floor tiles next to the bed were loose and/or broken,...possibly from the bed being moved by other guests. 😂🤣

That was a weird place for the TP roller. Looked like if it was just a little lower, you could just stretch out on the john and rest your head on it. :)

A head rest for when you're on the toilet - LOL! Why didn't we think of that? 😂🤣 x100

"until you have to do the twist" 😂😂😂 - I had a big laugh...sorry for the yoga poses you had to go through :)... but the hotel seems very functional otherwise, doing it's job for the money!

They definitely didn't think the bog roll (toilet roll) holder location through too well! I'm glad you got a giggle out of it 🥰. Aside from that and the cracked tiles, which really were minor things we absolutely loved this hotel and cannot sing it's praises enough. Thank yous so much for enjoying our videos 🥰🤗🥰🤗.

@@ACoupleofDrifters this goes to prove how little we need as humans, and how propaganda in the West (esp. US) makes us believe we need 5,000 sq ft mansions to live in with perfect tiles, and perfect everything... looking forward to a simpler life outside the US...

Oh we miss this little nest in Huancayo, it was lovely and it was nice staying put for a wee bit. We are currently in Ecuador and have been marching through here at a cracking pace for the last 2 weeks. It's beautiful, but pricey for our budget! We're looking forward to crossing back into Peru in the next week or so. Thanks for tuning in Blue Butterfly Travels 🤗🤗.

Nice review, thanks. I would have stayed easily 2 weeks. I noticed the travel book on Bolivia, any plans to leave Pérou soon. Do you feel the tension that political problems may cause.? Cuidado. 😉

Hi Marthe. We loved Huancayo and hope to return there again some day and we will definitely make a beeline to the hotel Confort when we do return.
Our original plan was to visit Bolivia as part of this trip, however aside from the protests, we spent the first 2 weeks in Lima as Jerry organised his paperwork for his visa for Bolivia. I'm travelling on my Irish passport so I don't need a visa. When we went to the Bolivian embassy in Lima we were told they no longer issue visas there and we would have to go to either Puno or Cusco. By that stage the protests were starting and heading south became more questionable for us. Whilst in Huancayo over New Years, many folk told us that the protests would start up again in earnest after the New Year... and they were correct. Listening to the word on the street we decided to head back north in Peru.
I was only given 45 days entering Peru on Dec. 5th, so we knew we had to cross a border in order for me to exit Peru. We thought we would have been visiting Bolivia, but that was not to be. Hence 2 weeks ago we crossed into Ecuador. Ecuador is beautiful but we are currently swiftly marching through here as it is quite pricey (compared to Peru). We are currently heading south again and hope to cross back into Peru in the next week. We will focus on travelling through northern Peru, there is an awful lot there we want to see and we are dying to get back to Peru - we really fell in love with it. The northern part of the country is currently not as volatile as the south, but we understand anything can happen at any point! Hopefully some day we'll get a chance to visit Bolivia. We'll keep you posted on how our travels are going. We'll be returning to Ecuador again as we fly out of Quito in late March. Thanks a million Marthe for always being there for us. 🥰🤗🥰🤗
