Our football style works well. We just need a striker, and that is the clubs fault, not RMs. The same happened to Ralph hasenhüttl then we sacked him, and his stats were still better than the two that followed. I go each week, so see the whole game, not just the highlights. Its goals and when we constantly replace players with inferior players, we find it hard to move on.
Jack stephens needs to go to div 1, maybe 2

Possession doesn't win games - after 40+ years of watching Saints, I'm growing tired of ideologues trying to follow one pattern of play. I miss pragmatism, freedom and adaptability.RM is so positive which is great, but you cannot just robotically play it backwards and around the back most of the time, ESPECIALLY at goal kicks - if the opposition know that, top players at PL level will always punish you. It ain't rocket science - predictability means death in sport.

It doesn’t matter what he actually says, the result will be the same. We will gift chances, almost like starting the game 1-0 down, and we will struggle to create / finish. As I’ve said before, I would love to see the data that proves playing this way creates more chances than gifting the opposition chances. The amount of 1-on-1 opportunities WE gift in every single game is extreme levels of self harm. He would rather preserve his reputation than actually win games!? I go back to it. How did Arsenal play against Spurs? Against Atalanta? Against City? They are a top side. Not cannon fodder like us. Arteta wants to play expansive, attacking football. But how did he actually set his side up!? This is pragmatism at its best. We’ll dominate when we are the better side but we’ll sit back and counter when we’re not. Steve Cooper played attacking football with Forest to get them up. Quickly realised they’re not going to win games like that in the Premier League and decides to be more cautious, aggressive and counter attacking. What’s wrong with that? You are messing around with other people’s money, other people’s club that they have spent their entire lives supporting. It’s not your play thing. The arrogance is insane. If I was in charge of other people’s money and was tasked to win football games, I would be doing that by any means necessary. So far we have made the worst teams look like Real Madrid. Look at Forest and Brentford last season. If we are going to stay up we not only have to be better than the two than come up with us, we have to be better than at least one other side that is already in the Premier League. We are NEVER in the games. We make it too easy every single match. Is this your grand plan? Because it’s a joke. I don’t even bother listening to your waffle because it doesn’t actually mean anything. It’s like a politician. Just lies. Rather be wedded to a certain style, why not horses for corses? Why not actually try and win a game? The reason players are nervous is because of you! You are asking average players to play like Man City! 😂 A blind man and his dog can see it, why can’t you, Russell? If we go down this will be on you. No one else. We can go down on 35 points, giving it a go. Fighting for every ball. Sitting in when we need to, exciting attacking back to front countering, patient passing and probing. All different styles for the right moments in games. That’s fine. But this is suicide. You think Luton fans weren’t proud of their team’s effort last season!? I bet they were. But Burnley? Won the Championship at a canter… went down in a whimper. I cannot believe you are still given air time. Hopefully, you’ll walk away and do the right thing. Imagine getting paid millions for failure? Imagine fucking up with someone else’s money and because of that you get a huge pay-off!? 😂 And you’ll probably get a top job after because you “stuck to your principles” hey Russell? But little old Southampton. Relegated. Rotting away. That doesn’t matter because you never compromised!! You only have to look at Unai Emery and what an actual top manager can do to change the fortunes of your team. Do the right thing.

I gave up reading that half way through. But we don’t struggle to create, we struggle to finish the chances, presume you want RM to walk on and put the ball in himself?😂 83 shots across 7 games, 8 goals. Teams that press high, get caught on counter attacks? Teams that play possession football will lose the ball sometimes. It’s a shame we have such fickle fans who don’t realise what and where we are. A new team in the premier league, 1 of 6 teams not to win a game yet, including, guess what, the other two teams that came up. It’s not all doom and gloom, but it is according to people like you. Entitled to your opinion, obviously I wholly disagree and there’s a lot of positives and it can just take time.
