Generally speaking, telling someone to calm down won't calm them down. It invalidates them and then makes them more upset. But this series of yours? It's wonderful. You're not condescending or impatient, you just genuinely want us to calm down and be in a state of peace, and that's what makes this series so effective. When authors write things like, "He had a voice like velvet..." This voice is what I hear in my head. I always like actors performing like this who have distinct voices. Like one of the most distinctive voices I ever heard was Alan Rickman. His voice sounded like he was talking into the end of a drain pipe or something.
My usual reaction to "calm down" is "fuck off" but somehow the way you say it just completely circumvents any prickly reaction lol Anyway this is really relaxing and wonderful, it's very much helping me turn my brain off and fall asleep

I've done a bit of amateur voice acting, and a Scottish accent is apart of my repertoire of voices, a dialect I enjoy voicing out. I work at Starbucks with an English woman, who upon hearing my go at the dialect, said that Scots would find it offensive to do what I just did. Now I didn't think I was being a charcuterie like the more grotesque Fat Bastard-esc voices. It actually kind of hurt my pride lol, I thought I was being respectful and had it down quite well. So I wanted to ask you, how does it feel as a Scot to have people attempt to sound similar to that general Scottish dialect?
It never bothers me mate, I play around with different accents all the time and I've yet to offend anyone! It's more the words than the accent anyway. If you walked up to a Scot and said in your best Scottish accent 'freedom' or something, that might be annoying.

Nobody on the internet has my personal info, and even if they did my family, friends, job, and household all already know and accept me. I'm very lucky to be able to be openly myself, not everybody can be.
