Good news!!! I have my Africa Twin!!! got it in May and just rolled to 2000 mi. and love it, Was running and still have a 2009 KLR 650. Have already installed Honda Panniers, 12 Volt accessory socket, Honda lower seat. Thanks to you Woodzman I put Nelson Rigg tank bag, and tail bag on the twin, ordered nelson Rigg saddle bags also but don't like the way they fit. Also a bunch of Alt Rider parts, Skide plate, Lower crash bars, Radiator guards, Brake reservoir guard. I know you always say Alt Rider always sends thread lock with their products but have never seen a bottle in any of my packages. I am on the list for the upper crash bars and the connecting bar but want them in black and haven't heard that they are in yet. and may not get them, still debating. This weekend or maybe next plan on a iron butt + ride we'll see. Oh it is a RED DCT, Wasn't sure if I wanted the DCT but I like it as long as it holds up as good as a manual. his is getting to long but this is exciting stuff!!! Will comment later. RIDE HARD!!! Thanks to other you tubbers on the Africa Twin that helped me on the Africa Twin, Accessories and Tips, in addition to Woodzman-------Heartland Dual Sport----------Leo Steiner----------- Good Job guys thanks a bunch.
+JJoe L Thanks Joe ! Glad to hear your getting it set up. Yea I had the Nelson Rigg saddle bags on the CRF250L but they were the Dual Sport saddle bags. I like the Honda Panniers on the AT. My stuff came with the AltRider parts but you have to look because it was just trowed in the box lol Ride On my friend and be safe !
The uppers have arrived. I was going to wait till this weekend to install them but you know how it is. After dinner I was in the garage going to it. I had the same problem I had with the lowers. The left side holes wouldn't line up so I got out the Dremel again & made the holes a bit bigger. I'm not looking forward to taking out the 2 lower left bolts to install the skid plate tomorrow. Overall I'm very happy with the product. Thanks again for your videos .
+Tim Tarbet That is so strange them bolt holes don't match, on mine it was perfect. Makes me wonder if it's the bars of the bike. Well at least it's an easy fix. Glad to hear that you got them installed
My goodness, I am glad to see you finally got these in my friend I bet Jeremy is happy to see them on your bike finally as well. Yes sir good for you, it has been a wait, so nice to see what good things came. :) Thanks for sharing and I cant wait to do the kick test on them. I will plan a trip up there soon my friend.
Thanks for the video, have my lowers but waiting to put them on until I have the uppers come in that are currently back ordered. I will definitely be utilizing your awesome video for reference when I do have them and its time to install them, thanks!
So those aren't painted? That is just a stainless finish? I thought that's what you said in the video, just wanting to make sure. I like the idea of not having any paint to scratch on them as well!
The video that alt rider have on their channel has the front/top mounting bracket on the top under the headlights on top of the bar not underneath like you installed yours. Did they change the position or was it not clear in the instructions? I thought I would mention this because I don't want you to reck your awesome setup 😄
put on my upper crash bars and left side has 1inch clearance at closest point to fairing and right side has about a quarter inch at closet point to fairing. Any ideas why this is? Contacted AltRider and sent them pics but thought I would reach out to you while Im waiting for answer. It was a struggle getting bolts to line up with holes on both lower and upper. Something just does not seem right. I checked to make sure spacers were in bracket and I noticed right side spacer is thinner than left side. Is this the same case for you? Any response is appreciated. Thanks for the videos
***** Made me think of my first new fancy street bike helmet that I bought years ago when I was about 17. Told my mom that I couldn't wait to try it out! She said "don't you dare" LOL
Great Video. Just ordered the full system and skid plate......... Cannot wait to install it all!
It’s by far the best made that there is
putting on my lowers and skid plate this week and waiting for backordered uppers and connecter bars. Thanks for videos! Safe riding
+Jon Greany Your welcome. I just waiting for the connector bars, then I done

+Jon Greany Wow, that almost sounds like they was formed wrong. No every part of mine fit perfectly. Let me know what you find out !
they are sending me new right side bracket, hopefully this will be the fix
+Jon Greany Oh sweet, I hope that is the problem. Let me know when you get it installed

Cool! Are you going to go crash it to see how good they work?? Hahaha Just kidding! Nice explanation of the install.
That would be a good test lol . I will just wait and let a crash happen on its own lol maybe never haha
***** Made me think of my first new fancy street bike helmet that I bought years ago when I was about 17. Told my mom that I couldn't wait to try it out! She said "don't you dare" LOL
