    We all experience occasional aches and pains, so we were very excited when our dear friend, Jiling Lin, agreed to come for a visit to show us how to make one of her go-to liniments. This recipe is called Die Da Jiu (跌打酒) in classical East Asian medicine and is used to comfort muscle and joint discomfort.

    Try your hand at making this liniment to help soothe the inevitable slings and arrows of an active lifestyle. Once you have the recipe down, you'll always want to have it stocked in your herbal "first aid kit".
    Jiling Lin is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac), herbalist, and yoga teacher in Ventura, CA.

    Hello and thanks for sharing. Could this be made into a salve, with beeswax? Awesome video!!

      If you infuse the ingredients into oil I’m sure you could make it into a salve but it probably wouldn’t be as potent as the same ingredients prepared as liniment

      Hi there! Unfortunately we do not sell a premade kit of these ingredients :( We do sell all of the ingredients needed to make this recipe though! If you do buy all 4oz bags of these ingredients, you will be able to make this recipe several times. I hope that helps! - Gracie

    Thanks for the video! 😊 Can this be added to a bubble bath formula?

    • @mountainroseherbs
      @mountainroseherbs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! I would not suggest using this recipe in a bubble bath because all the resins will likely stain both your skin and the tub and may be a little too harsh for your whole body.

    Your opinion please. I do not have these herbs on hand. Could a tincture of comfrey root and another tincture of stinging nettle and use it topically for sprains, muscle and tendon pain? Could I use it daily once or twice until pain subsides? Thank you for your knowledge, time and positive energy. Namaste

      You will be albe to get enough for a decent jow with 1 visit to an asian Chinatown supermarket type shop . There is a brand of Chinese ingredients ( the line is blurred with medecine and food) we get it in Australia, has a sort if red packet about 200x200mm and they only cost about $7 Australian each , you can get the awesome ingredients like xu dan , gu sui bu, frankincense, myrrh , camphor, bo hue ( mint extract) cinnamon and cloves you get anywhere

      You need to use herbs that have topical pain relief qualities… not sure those herbs qualify for that, though they have other great properties

    Is it worth grinding/powdering everything as fine as possible to get as much contact area with the menstruum, or is that a waste of time?

    • @mountainroseherbs
      @mountainroseherbs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you click the link to view the full blog, Jiling says that she hammers or crushes up the resins before using them! You could also grind up the herbs more as well. You will just need to use a more fine strainer at the end! Hope that helps :) - Gracie

    would this be suitable for a spray bottle or do you think the resins would clog up the sprayer?

    • @mountainroseherbs
      @mountainroseherbs  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! The liquid after straining is rather sticky so it may clog up a spray bottle. Unfortunately, we have not tried that so we can't know for sure. It may be worth putting a small amount in a spray bottle and testing it out!

    Really nicely presented video!
    Tip tho, do NOT use isopropyl alcohol- if you use it regularly you see the damage, even if you use a lot of peach kernel The best base is actually: cheap unscented plain hand sanitizer 70% alcohol. That is perfect for dissolving the resins like myrrh and extracting the good stuff from gui si bu , and you can add afterwards a bit of water to dilute to 50% for long term maturation

    Wonderful, but please remember that aromatic herbs, things like peppermint or other herbs that contain menthol., other stronger odors..these can be too strong and therefore unhealthy for pets...

      Menstruum is the word used in the herbal community for a solvent of any kind! So it could apply to the liquid in any herbal preparation.
