I ordered a Roman blind today from blindstogo. I wish I watched your video first.
I fitted some today 😊
Put a thin washer under the bracket ,also the blind is attached by velcro at the top strip it back that way the cloth is not acting as a buffer, works well to fit now and to remove 😉
I can't picture this
Thanks for the heads up on this issue Glenn. We're looking into getting roman blinds for all our windows so really appreciate the insight into this.
A great series of videos, Glenn! A shame you had to go to these lengths. A bit of a shocker that Blinds2go are still supplying these faulty brackets in 2024. FWIW the lever brackets for my John Lewis Roman blinds worked just fine. So I’ve just ordered that type from Amazon. Should save me spending any more time heaving, cursing and sweating - and that’s just to get them up!
(never got as far as trying to unclip with the supplied brackets…)
Thanks for the video. I agree, an absolute nightmare to take down. Brute force and ignorance seem to have helped! Although mine are fixed to plasterboard, I attached a slim wooden batten to the plasterboard first and then the brackets to the batten which seems to have stopped any damage.
. . . . . .I did the same (after reconstructing the damage I made the first time taking them off. . . .I used a thin aluminium wide strip.
Do look at the other videos of what I also did:

I agree an absolute nightmare to remove, we had 5 of them. Watching my partner huffing and puffing was a likeness to my giving birth 🤣 thx for the heads up Glenn 👍
100% agree. Impossible
Glenn. Did you ever get the situation resolved with the bracket. We now have an issue that the chain supplied has broken and they have sent a new chain. The problem we have is getting the bracket off the wall!!! Tearing our hair out!!!
Nope, but see the other three (total of 4) videos that I have done. Once you get it off (probably with damage) I had a remedy, but it is far from ideal.
4 years after this video they are still the same…We put them up then realised they are the wrong size and now we need to put up with it. We can’t even saw the screws off as the screws are at the back so impossible to reach as they are tight on the wall. So depressing. The actual blinds are beautiful 😢
do their Roman's blinds (face fit) go into timber ? please help.
my depth of the recess is 47mm
'Timber' meaning your window frame? (it dpoes say on wall or window frame) If yes, I don't see any issues if you get 'recessed width' blinds (rather than oversized blinds that are wider then the recess) and then 'face-fix' the bracket onto the frame. Facce Fixing uses two screws, so the bracket won't be able to rotate, and you should be good when taking the blinds down and brackets for decorating (painting your window frame). 47mm is perahps a few millilmeters wider than the blind in face fixing mode, so you'll have a few mm to place with . . . . you may even be able to make the blind flush with the wall outside the recess.
Nightmare NIGHTMARE WILL NOT BEE PURCHASING ANY MORE FROM THEM
I found this as I have a blind with five (yes FIVE!!) of this awful clips and the header rail mechanism broke necessitating a replacement. Getting is off without bringing the ceiling down was a nightmare and I'm still not sure how I did it. Perhaps I damaged the clips as I now have to put the new rail back up. Nightmare!
My sympathies.
Have a look at my other videos . . . I have a get around, but it is far from ideal, in video 04:

Agree, just fitted 2, no tolerance if middle bracket is slightly out from the end ones🤬
. .. or if any of them 'swivel' because it is held in place with one screw (as per the 'top fixing' option)
Are u not missing a metal piece mine came with two
Metal Piece. Please show a picture.
Awful design and we won't be replacing ours with Blinds2Go any more. Ended up ripping them off and damaging them as we had new windows being put in and just couldn't figure out how to take these down.
These fittings are an absolute nightmare. Don't recommend.
Realise the catches on the brackets
That's wrong
Problem with you is you are working upside down and your face should be looking at the Velcro attached front of blind. When putting on and off you push the complete blind forward from you towards the wall and turn top to release and turn bottom up the way to put on. You appear to think blinds to go do not know what they are do, they do it’s you that’s wrong!
Sorry Drew that you can't understand. No, I haven't got it wrong. Its a poor design. Not that I need validation from everyone else that has commented, but nearly all have said the same . . . . . nearly impossible to remove, due to poor design. . . .and yes a company can get something like this wrong. Make a video of you showing us how easy it is and let us know the link.
@@glenn1285 I can assure you that the difference of having eyes level, putting the inside lip into the plastic slide and pushing away from you with a slight turn towards you causes it to slip in. The reverse also is true for removal. You should place your mock up in the correct position where the blinds would be. This version is only diff. from previous in that push is built in now whereas the plastic push was exposed. If you can’t manage get an extra hand ,especially on a wider window. I am just a diy’er
Dreadful design, end up pulling the fittings out the wall
