Great video! Going to use save this for when I do mine, I’ll remember not to leave the plastic packaging on the cone filter when starting it for the first time tho 😂;)
@@wils_builds yeah if you look back the cover was getting vacuumed sealed to the intake when the engine was running aha, I’m surprised it started tbf 😂
@@SVTVasquez yeah dude Miata’s are great and easy to work on. I feel you. Got to do what you got to do for the kids Glad you still have something you can still play with though 🤙
Congrats on the 1st start! Clean build, I appreciate your attention to detail with greasing the battery posts and installing a pigtail for the battery charger. I tried to take similar care with my Miata engine swap. Great work, curious what it makes on the dyno with your MS!
Thank you for the encouragement! I've been following your engine swap and its coming along great! Alot of attention to detail on your builds and vids. I look forward to see it up and running! I'm really close to taking it to the dyno so hopefully getting it tuned soon
@@wils_builds dude you made my day! Really happy that you're motivated to make Miata vids. If you aren't already gonna do it, maybe a vid about DIY dyno tuning your MS would be good ... there are others (carpassionchannel) but maybe a more DIY spin to it?
@@mostlyuselessgarage I want to learn but honestly I don't know much about tuning. Kinda scared and wouldn't feel comfortable giving out information when I'm a total newb haha

Glad you enjoyed the video. I only had the plastic on when checking oil pressure. I almost did forget to remove it though haha
In the video it's running with the filter cover on it @@wils_builds

@@wils_buildsRespect that, we can't know everything so def need a pro for those critical things.
I got a little concerned when he was cranking the engine with the air filter still wrapped in plastic. Glad it was removed later.
Hahah yeah got way to excited to finally start it up 😅
