Yes. Also, you have to beat every level efficiently to get a "Nice Play", which gives you a higher intensity bonus. The worse you do, the less likely you'll reach 9.9 by the end. If you Continue with coins (not the Classic Ticket), your intensity will drop a bit as well.

The reason he only hit 9.7 was because he took too much damage during the fight or didn't beat them quick enough. I just landed a 9.8 and saw where I messed up.

This really takes me back. The original Smash Bros came out when I was in 4th grade, and it was HUGE. I actually got an N64 for my 10th birthday (toward the end of the millenium) partly because of the game. It warms my heart that the franchise is still going strong. Yeah I’m not big on only having one stock for each level. Same thing with 4’s 2 stock classic. Never liked the lowering difficulty if you died either That’s why Melee and Brawl will always be the best in that regard
When you always get a “WOW! Incredible”, that shows that you may be qualified for Elite Smash. The highest difficulty I ever got in this game is 7.6, which is as Link. I’ve been starting at 3.0. Does the Challenge Board have a challenge that has you achieve 9.9 as every fighter in the roster?

So the point in reaching 9.9 is to do the levels as fast as you can? If you manage to reach 9.9 by the last level, can you use a Classic Ticket at least once? Although one fact to note is I like how you can do nothing when its against Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight as they tend to fight each other, which is kinda funny

When I fought against the Kirby guys, Dedede killed himself because he hit the bomb block.. It was hillarious I wish I made a video about that.

I'm doing everything right got 2 perfects no continues and the rest as nice plays and ot still only gives me 9.8 lol I'm not the good with mario but I'm good enough to get 9.9 just it wont let me for some reason

Try no taking as much damage or playing faster,the game docks points for slow or poor gameplay.

So the point in reaching 9.9 is to do the levels as fast as you can? If you manage to reach 9.9 by the last level, can you use a Classic Ticket at least once?
Although one fact to note is I like how you can do nothing when its against Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight as they tend to fight each other, which is kinda funny
