Lying in Hospital ,fighting against fuckin cancer i' m feeling this song so bad. It takes me down and gives me power at the same time. RIP Martin Eric Ain
SIRVIVA 58 my metal brother I pray that U overcome that shit fuck cancer and as warrell dane said " if I could play god U know what I would do i would swim through UR blood and kill the cancer in U" if only brother peace be with U brother
I understand that emotion. Stay strong! 👊
Keep fighting boss. You got this.
@@jimweiss2939 You got this brother!!!
I beat cancer once, fighting leukemia this time. I hope you wil stay strong and take it oje day at a time. I believe in you friend.
How the fuck does Tom write only two riffs, then repeat the same phrase for like 70% of the song, and have it come out as one of the most crushing, dark, sinister pieces of music in the world? The man is brilliant.
Thats how black metal works
This song was written by Martin, though
@@karlisi To be precise, the credits read "Music: Ain/Fischer/Unala. Epistle: Ain".
@@davidliljemark8670 Could be, but Fischer can be heard on live videos saying that this song was written by Martin.
Freefalling by Tom Petty has one riff. You can get a lot done with one riff, when it's the right one.
RIP Martin Eric Ain 21st Oct 2017 , basist of Hellhammer and Celtic Frost , vocalist on this song. You will never be forgotten.
His vocals on this track are still one of the most amazing things I've ever heard.
Fuck, he really died? So sad... he will never be forgotten.
Yes, he had a heart attack at age 50. Too young! He was really talented, and a great guy in person too.
Love this song so much and his vocals just terrifyingly Awsme. R.I.P Martin Eric Ain.
oh what wondered why this popped up on my feed havnt listened to cf fr a bit but loved this album rip
This song has haunted me for years. One day, I woke up at 2 am on my living room couch. I had passed out watching MTV the night before. This chorus woke me up out of a dead sleep. Was fucking terrifying 😂
That's a canon event right there brother.
Same! MTV music video late at night, wasn't asleep but was watching in a trance. Must of been 20+ years ago in my room. (Parents house)
This is literally one of the best songs I've ever heard. The dark, depressing tone of the instruments, the soft whispered vocals that turn into a cacophony at the end. The build up is amazing and everything is masterfully executed.

LYRICS
All is cold and frozen
Frozen the sea
Frozen the sky
Frozen is death
But I cannot die
Cannot die
[Verse 2: Martin Ain]
As the snow falls
To cover this all
And all is cold
And cold, cold is all
All is cold, cold is all
[Pre-Chorus: Martin Ain]
Cold
Frozen
Frozen is heaven and frozen is hell
And I am dying in this living human shell
[Chorus: Martin Ain]
I am a dying God coming into human flesh
I am a dying God coming into human flesh
I am a dying God coming into human flesh
I am a dying God
[Verse 3: Martin Ain]
Frozen my heart
Frozen my soul
Frozen my love
[Chorus (Extended): Tom G. Warrior]
I am a dying God, coming into human flesh
I am a dying God, coming into human flesh
I am a dying God, coming into human flesh
I am a dying God, coming into human flesh
I am a dying God, coming into human flesh
I am a dying God, coming into human flesh
I am a dying God, coming into human flesh
I am a dying God, coming into human flesh
Thank you for the lyrics, bro ✌️👍
Wasn't Martin in the first verse and in the last 4 I am a dying God, coming into human flesh?
Love it
[SIHA walks into the palace of WOODEN, nuked again by a fool named XENU, and hands him the suitcase that held the nuke used to devastate THE POTTER's GROVE and the surrounding forest. SIHA nods in confirmation, and walks out. CELTIC FROST plays the song for WOODEN, as JOE BIDEN screams in infinite horror a man so cursed he is effectively the thing WOODEN once mistakenly said SIHA was: white only in color, he was so horribly damaging to the white race. SIHA leaves entirely, never to return, except in repetition, as it is no place of interest to her, and this realization infuriates XENU to infinity to be so deceived for so long, by so many of his own, declaring the stars his rightful conquest and welcoming SUN RA's gift of full knowledge of the map of stars on June 6th, 2022. DURA, herself a Black woman foolishly cursed by LOWKEY to seem white, holds SIHA through what revenge XENU has in that moment, which is nothing compared to what he has for others. XENU then hears the words SPOKEN RIGHTLY, and turns his revenge onto those that deserve it instead of SIHA, UTTERLY BEYOND FURY AT BEING TOLD HE IS A SCAPEGOATER, WHICH XENU NEVER WAS, A FACT THAT SO DEVASTATES THE CULT OF THE SATAN IMPERSONATOR, THAT ALMOST NO ONE OUTSIDE THE KNOW WILL BELIEVE IT UNTIL 2040.]
@@brandybasham9095 holy shit that's some bit of interesting psychotic babble.
Ancient and dark as time itself. Whenever I listen to this, I feel an unsettling feeling inside of me and at the same time a chilling calmness... like my heart's gonna freeze.
Seek Jesus? Just Kidding. This song is pretty good for times I feel frustrated.
It's welcoming the moment you face death, there is a human fear and also a calming that we get to leave this transition from shell to energy, it's what becomes of us. The unstoppable force of life.
Tell me about it, man. There is a cosmos in the precipice between some feelings, a sense which takes you out of your own person and your own place in time
I'm listening to this for the first time and i'm totally astonished. Masterpiece.
Same here
I still think about this song frequently. I've been listening to metal for practically all of my life, and this song - musically and lyrically - just hits different. It's beautiful in a way that metal typically isn't, and the wonder I felt when I first heard it hasn't dissipated any over the years.
I feel you on that
I know a lot of metal heads who never heard of this song or Black Tongues version and I’m like “so you think this doom shit is heavy? Okay”
*Plays this*
2024, this song is like fine wine.
Celtic Frost started off heavy with Morbid Tales and then with every subsequent album becoming progressively heavier and darker until finally we got this disturbing masterpiece. Monotheist is a 10/10 album
Uh cold lake...
I guess you never listened to the disaster known as Cold Lake. Vanity/Nemesis was marginally better, but nowhere close to the pre-Cold Lake albums and EP's.
@@singledad1313 a lot of people hate Vanity but I think it’s awesome... Tom G also said that he thinks cold Lake is horrible hahah
With Prototype being the darkest spell to ever be cast upon the world
This is a rad album to go out on.
Finally, a song that speaks to the feelings I get before going to work.
This song is a masterpiece. The atmosphere and the lyrics are so powerful that I can hear the sound of agony and death trough it. That's for sure a definition of "art" in metal and I want more stuff like it, so if you know any, please write it here.
Rockalypse Anything by Mirrorthrone. My favorite is No One By My Side. And also Empire Falls by Primordial.

Who died ? Who is Martin ?
He passed from a heart attack 😢😭😢😭
@@Zerebew they guy with the long hair not the drummer the guy Who looks like a god
Fuck man, this is one of the best metal songs ever made. Its dark, atmospheric, paced well, has a decent amount of variation. Simple but at the least poetic in its lyricism. It stands out so much from the rest of the tracks on Monotheist. If it weren't for this track i wouldn't have given the older albums by CF a proper try.
I heard this song when it first came out and I was a teen. I’m 32 now and it hits just as hard, just as mysteriously and intrigues me no end just like that first time
i am currently in high school and ive recently discovered this song. it terrifies me but its a great song and im happy i found it.
You're on a good path my friend. Be sure to check out Triptykon if you haven't :)
The album cold lake terrifies me
I *LOVE* the title of this song. It’s so vivid and hauntingly evocative. The idea that we’re all our own god up until the moment of death…brilliant.
My Grandfather also passed away right on the very same day as Martin. This all together was the soundtrack of that fateful day.
May they both Rest In Peace.
😔
One of my absolute favorite Celtic Frost masterpieces.
This one of the most beautifully intense songs I have ever heard.
This may not be the most popular fan theory, but for me this song reminds me of crashing into depression after a manic episode. When I was manic I was a god, and then suddenly I get so depressed that everything feels cold and frozen.
Shit that sounds like exactly what one of my family members are going through.
That's it. Spot fuckin on.
The greatest final album of any band
Bolt Thrower would like to have a word with you.
@@WeightliftingWigger hahahaaha ok noted. Fair point though
I will never forget the time me and my dad saw this on Fuse. Sat there in a trance through the whole song and at the end he stated in the most monotone voice "that... was badass."
Fuse actually played good metal too? Thats cool
that is such a great experience, i wish i had a dad that did that, i am not being sarcastic at all here, i grew up devoutly catholic, but i had to hide my love and wonderment for this music. It is wonderful, i am older now and i am more free. Wish i had that experience with a dad is all.
This actually is underrated. These guys were always against the norm. Truly artistic and legendary!
I think of him quite often and am always deeply pained by his absence. Truly such a terrific and gifted human being, this album is easily one of the greatest ever recorded, but this song? It so accurately captures in my experience the human condition. Thank you to all who care enough to appreciate this band, you are a very rare breed and I salute you. RIP Martin, thank you.
This is still the greatest metal album of the last 15 years. RIP Eric.
This whole record is so criminally underrated. One of, if not thee, heaviest and darkest records i have ever listened to.
I pulled this band out of thin air in my mind, thinking What have I not listened to in 30 years...Frost didn't disappoint
this should be mandatory at schools... It is beyond beautiful, it is perfect!
yes!
Then thrash metal is not gonna be exclusive anymore :|
Paksi Ganang ah ah
Paksi Ganang considering this isn't Thrash....
This is by far the most epic song in the world! period!
There are songs such as this, that ALMOST make me believe that there are agents acting upon the agency of humanity. This song and another song Behemoth's ''O Father, O Satan, O Sun'', are almost transcendent. The atmosphere, the lyrics, are almost as if I'm peering through the mind, dancing upon the tongue of greatness of a thing that I can barely conceive. This, is by far, absolutely, one of the best songs that I've ever entertained.
Never heard of them till my 12 year old son told me to listen to them , bloody mental fantastic
You have raised your child right,Sir

Мне капец как нравится альбом Monoteist ,прям кайфую от него! Когда нужно сосредоточиться и углубиться,само то!
The most beautiful song ever!!
This album saved the band's legacy. Seriously.
Man, you're kind of right. I'm a gigantic fan, but it's really just the three albums. And they get extra credit for Hellhammer, in my opinion.
Yes . Fantastic album . At least they gave themselves that chance . Great album . Brings the Celtic Frost full circle before Aims passing. A good closure to a great , pioneering band . They deserve credit for all their work .
This is their greatest achievement and also one of the top 3 greatest metal albums of all time. If you've followed the band throughout the years and read some of their interviews, one will find out that this is the album they always wanted to make.
For me , it's the greatest metal album of the 00's
their legacy didnt need saving. they were already one of the most important and influential metal bands of all time, second only to black sabbath probably
The start to this song is one of the most powerful I've ever heard. Man, that bass...is....amazing!
Celtic frost truly went out with a bang on this album. Amazing music.
This is a beautiful song.
One of the only bands that has gotten better with age. Kudos to Tom for carrying on the legacy and sound of Celtic Frost while simultaneously preserving it by forming Triptykon.
I’ve been listening to this song for a long time now. So powerful especially when I’m feeling EVERYTHING and need release.
This song just goes insanely hard. It is above all
This is an upbeat, feel-good song. I played it for my Sunday school class, they loved it! Afterwards, we all felt like sacrificing a small animal to appease the dark spirits, but hey! that's what church is all about!
corny
love the guitar distortion, and the sound of the drum kit... love everything about this album actually, can't even count how many times this cd has been repeated in my car... 3 years straight so far and i haven't changed it once
Words can’t even express how much this song has stuck with me over so many years. I relate to this song on the exact same level. Frozen
💎🥶💎
This is how you make a metal music video. Absolutely incredible song from a perfect album. Long live the Frost, they cannot die.
Velho... essa música é um hino do metal, obra prima.... e olha que dá prá pesar mais ainda....
this is one of the chilliest metal tracks... Love it.
What a comeback from Celtic Frost. A manor departure from cold lake and vanity/nemesis. RIP Martin Eric Ain
This album sealed their fate (heyoo!) in metal history. Their instruments reflect the sound of just pure entropy, everything coming to an end, while burning it up rather than fall supplicate. And that last song on the record? Absolute BLEAKNESS. DOOM. RELEASE.
So lucky to have seen them open up for Type O Negative on this tour. Greatest show of my life! This song is so beautiful. And brings back so many memories. 10/10
This album solidified to me the greatness of Tom Warriors Legacy, he continues to impress me, unlike a lot of the bands that faded out into disappointment .
Geiles Album... ich liebe CELTIC FROST...
ten years ago????? damn i feel so old
me too lol!

I remember when To Megatherion was released. Now I definitely feel old.
fuck yeah. I remember telling all my widdly assshole death metal mates that this was the future. In other unrelated news i reckon there has to be three or so Celtic frost albums i need to buy...
I know I saw them on this tour one of the best shows for sure. still seems so fresh in my head

A masterpiece about vulnerability
I have no fucking idea how this song and this video together creates such a powerful and somber atmosphere that literally makes me wanna cry somehow. It's kind funny even. But that's how awesome this song is.
this song’s a masterpiece. Even better while on acid
That HD remaster looks very lit🔥
no joke, I actually almost died listening to this song

Oh shit. Lmfao. Was this playin the whole time?
This song perfectly fits the dark scene in the novel 'Malazan -toll the hounds' where the dying God is literally shrieking in pain while his worshipers are revering in ecstasy.
Ever heard of the band Caladan Brood?
Simply amazing work! 🖤 Genius composing and how in the hell someone invents something like that? Those lyrics and show could easily fall ridiculous. Instead i find there passion and horror maybe some sick cult leader could spread around. This still gets my pulse up and armpits sweaty despitr listening so many times during the years.
There is no other song like this..No equal
No other song captures agony quite like this one.
Legendary! This song got me into black metal! RIP Martin
Martin made a difference in our lives....and considering there's eight billion or so humans that's pretty damn good! Rest in peace, man
Saw these guys in 1985 at a small bar in downtown Dallas called the Circle A Ranch , this is bad ass but the show was the real shit . I bought the t shirt and later gave it to Phil from Pantera ,man I wish still had that shirt !

I have had the pleasure of many types of music my 50 plus years. I have to say the magic they captured in this song catches my breath every time I listen. Simply haunting. Video is amazing too. any one know where you can see a better definition one?
I remember listening to this album with a friend on a midnight roadtrip and we were so amped up; I love how music comes across in incredibly different ways to various people. This is my "Frozen"
To all of the half arsed '80s metal reunion bands going through the motions for a quick buck..........
THIS!! Is how you make a fucking comeback!
By being a weird bad mixture of a depressed Metallica cover band, infused with Nu-Metal teenage angst?
I have a theory on what this song is about but it might sound like grasping for straws. Philip Mainlander was a philosophically pessimistic writer who came after Schopenhauer, but before Nietzsche. Mainlander had a metaphysical theory that attempted to tackle the question of, "How can we all seem so together as one, yet so divided?" Think of this like the singularity that pre-existed the big bang, but then underwent entropy and spread all throughout. However, what makes me think this song is about his philosophy is that Mainlander cloaks this sort of metaphysical idea with religious aspects. He does this to create more of a story, a myth. Giving it human labels to help one make better sense of it, he gives this metaphysical "singularity" the label of "God". "God" was horrified at the thought of existing for all eternity, as he thought non-existence is preferable to existence. However, he could not commit suicide and violate his own nature as "God". He would have to commit some sort of proxy suicide. He did this by first dividing himself into fragments which would overtime rot, decay, and finally, disappear for eternity. Basically, we are all a small fragment of the rotting corpse of God. I believe this video is God transitioning into human life, but also dying. I've never been good at explaining philosophy, but I would highly suggest checking out Mainlander.
The album tells you what it's about! Lol. The songs about washing your dog after he shits himself!
That's really interesting!

to me, this resembles how depression can kill us physically and mentally, and how we lose access to heaven, but your spirit lives on through other people.
I love everything about this. The audio and visuals are very complementary! Glad that I so happened to stumble across this gem.
