At 61, I just bought my first mountain bike and have fallen in love with the beauty of the woods. So I understand how your fat bike experience felt to you 😊😊 we don’t get enough snow where I live so will live thru your adventures.😊
It was fun seeing your first proper ride on snow! I started ridding year round in about 1992 after reading an article in Bicycling Magazine called "The Ice Men Cometh", it showed how to stud tires with sheet metal screws & duct tape! On one of my early rides at a local reservoir, I flew past a couple on cross country skis, at the top of a hill, on a very icy narrow trail. I think they had to go into the woods to avoid the hill. At the bottom, I saw kids on a sled heading down the hill I was climbing. Here in New Jersey, for the first ten years, I saw almost no one else out ridding in the winter. It is great how far the equipment and the popularity of winter ridding has come.
Oh Kev, I love your videos you always make me laugh. Riding bikes in the snow is fun. Winters are long here in North Idaho so if you don't go outside and play you will be inside for 7 months of the year...lol. I love how well you embrace new experiences❤

I got my first fat bike last year. So much fun! What PSI were you running on this trip? In deep snow I took mine down to 3 and it was a miserable slog. Never again.

It's a workout! REI has fat bike rides in Theodore Wirth. They have well-maintained single track routes. It is fun!!

I was right around 4-5 psi, and yeah you could feel all the snow pushing up against your tires
