    I was planning to upload another video but it's taking a while to edit, so I decided to quickly film and upload this instead since quite a few people have asked me where I find my freelance gigs! I shared how I started freelancing as a UI/UX Designer, what skills I had to pick up, where I found my gigs, how much I earn, etc. A bit has changed since I filmed this - like the food & beverage one is still pending if they want to continue working with me and I got another gig, but I think this is more or less the opportunities that I've gotten thus far☺️🙏🏻

    More info in the description but I just wanted to add that I’m still learning and my designs and work aren’t always up to standard. I have a long way to go! But thanks for the support and for 10k subscribers!! Q&A video coming soon, feel free to ask questions here or on Instagram☺️ See you in the next video! (Most likely a room makeover👀👀👀)

    Great stuff! lotsa of nuggets there. Thanks for the generous sharing. Question: did you have challenges when handing off the UX/UI assets? Is the proper (systemized) handoff part critical to these gigs?
    Am learning about that handoff part.

    yet another 10/10 super helpful and transparent vid from you, love it! keep doing what you’re doing for the design/content creation community here in SG, Nicole! :) one qn on my end, do you normally have some form of contractual agreement with your clients? especially overseas clients if you’ve had any!

    • @NicoleBernadette
      @NicoleBernadette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much Cheryl☺️ Some clients do have contracts but for some we go by verbal agreement or I'll do an invoice/bill/quote and send it over - not the safest but I'm still navigating the legalities as a freelancer haha☺️ Great question though, I ought to have some form of contractual agreement with clients in the future👍

    Thanks Nicole for the video! This has really been very informative. Just curious, are the gigs you are doing now just mainly UI design? Are they any user research involved to help validate your designs?

    • @NicoleBernadette
      @NicoleBernadette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    hi nicole! while its true that freelancing rly does value add in terms of helping u earn $ as a uni student but what if your uni course is rly intense (aka computing) and how would you advice one to juggle with freelancing & ur academic studies?

    • @YNA64
      @YNA64 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly if you’re in computing and planning to go into technical roles, I’ll advice you to focus on your studies (especially algo), internships, hackathons and building networks. Your payout later will be very huge as compared to side hustles. But that’s just my opinion. Actually in your case, I’m not sure what freelancing you’re doing, but if it’s related to what you want to become later on then it’s not a bad idea to focus on that more.
