David Suchet breathed life into the character of Inspector Poirot. IMHO No other actor can compare to the perfection of his interpretation. David Suchet IS the same Inspector Poirot that Agatha Christie envisioned in her books.
David Suchet's acting is perfection. I've spent my childhood reading Agatha Christie, and his character as Poirot is exactly what I envisioned. It is still magical to watch him. I am so grateful that we got two such amazing actors for the Agatha Christie books. Joan Hickson was also amazing as Miss Marple. It's rare to see such good adaptations.
You read the books and realized that Poirot was over 80 years old, had a full head of hair, green eyes and enormous mustaches, yet saw DAVID SUCHET?!? Yegads...
Such an amazing actor and comes across as a gentleman and a kind man. I don’t think anyone has failed as Poirot, but for me, Sir David Suchet will always be my Poirot 😊❤
There might come worthy or acceptable future Poirots, but, IMHO, Kenneth Branagh can't do, won't do : He has almost always remained blond in each and every character he played, fgs! Poirot is not blond. Or isn't his hair colour stipulated by A. Christie ?
I dream of meeting him, shaking his hand, and thanking him for a lifetime of bringing 'Poirot' to life! Agatha Christie, I'm sure, would be SO Proud of his portrayal!
He played his character SOO well! I really appreciate his dedication to his work but his great skills as an actor really brought this Belgian private detective to Life!
I’m 43 and watching every episode and season with my husband. I think he is just a spectacular actor, to have taken this character and transformed it so thoroughly. I can’t imagine anyone picking up the mantle after him. Initially the seasons start with extremely subtle expressions (that communicate much) and mannerisms that carry you into the world of Poirot, but by the very end of the series he shows such intensity you really feel that this is a person who has truly lived all the episodes and has released a glimpse behind his famous composure, it’s just masterfully done from start to finish. He is wonderful at his craft. I am in love with this depiction, and always look forward to the inside jokes he sneaks in to the more lighthearted scenes. He is just so funny with his disgust, disdain, etiquette, irritation with imprecise or malfunctioning things, sensory issue, interior design horror, but then he loves his friends and doesn’t want to be the source of their pain so he overcomes these things ti be with them or even show them they’re appreciated. When he received a taxidermied lizard as a gift (that he thought was just his new housemate’s decor) and flips so seamlessly from absolute disgust at the idea of it being in his home, to being genuinely touched and saying he would treasure it forever, even I believed him. I’m sad he can’t just play this character for the rest of his life, but he gave it everything he had and then some. When it’s over I will start from the beginning again.
I simply adore this man. So humble and so professional at the same time. I am in Portugal, but i bought "Poirot - the complete series" from ITV and i restart waching it every 3 to 6 months after i have finished. No ofense for other amazing actors, but Poirot there's only one. Others are good actors playing the role.
He IS Poirot! Whatever Poirots they would invent, David Suchet IS and will ever BE Poirot. The best ever, no actor will ever bring his kind of acting, interpretation and, last but not least, similarity with the original character. He practically slid into Poirot`s skin.
Peter Ustinov played Poirot and it was a caricature of Poirot. I haven't seen all the actors who have played the part. BUT David Suchet IS Poirot and always will be.. I can't see any other actor daring to touch the part. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch anyone else .
can see the lady's smile reaches her eyes and she kept constantly leaning towards Sir David, as we all would if we were chatting with him. Such a personality.
Suchet was the equal of Ustinov as Poirot and executed a truly great performance in the Countess Roussakoff jewel theft case. Cinematic greatness , unforgettable, in the last scene where he practically pursues a train on which his love is leaving.
When making a movie from a book casting is actually the most important feature. The character is established. Is known. The acter SHOULD mold to the part. There should not be an “interpretation “ of the character. Especially one as well known as Poirot. He is who he is. I so very much appreciate the time and work David Suchet put in to being Poirot. He respected Christie and respected the audience. Branagh has destroyed the character. They should not be allowed to use Christie’s name nor the book titles.
David Suchet is the best Hercule Poirot ever.👏🇬🇧♥️
He's the ONLY Poirot.
Sin duda.. rompió el molde.. Agatha estará feliz!
in italiani si pissono avere questi filmati
"Aren't I the luckiest bunny?" Love this man. We're the lucky ones ~

It was so good to hear Poirot again after all these years when David delivered that line, "I listen to what you say..."
nobody can replace david suchet as hercule poirot... love him ❤️❤️❤️

He seems so nice and pleasant to talk to! I love his acting!!
And he seems really down to earth. Did you see he blushed when the Interviewer was over the moon with his sentence? So lovely ❤
I dream of meeting him, shaking his hand, and thanking him for a lifetime of bringing 'Poirot' to life! Agatha Christie, I'm sure, would be SO Proud of his portrayal!
The charm of this gentleman is unique, thank you
What a wonderful interview and what absolute pleasure both Christine and Sir David gave us in just that 6 minutes.......
🎉I was reading Hercule Poirot since I was 12- only Sir David Suchet ever matched up with what I imagined Hercule Poirot walked talked and looked like❤
I greatly admire him. One of the finest actors the world has ever produced. He is simply perfection itself. 💖
He played his character SOO well! I really appreciate his dedication to his work but his great skills as an actor really brought this Belgian private detective to Life!

Hercule Piorot is the only fictional character that had a obituary in the New York Times when Sir David 's role ended.
I'm rewatching Poirot from the beginning, and I love it.

Sir David Suchet is Poirot. Ustinov was awful.
@@rieske2000 " Awful?" Suchet himself described Ustinov as " great " but you're entitled to your own tastes and preferences.
Whats his thoughts on kenneth version
"I listen to what you say, but I hear what you mean."
عاشقتم از ایران بهترین سریال جنایی در طول تاریخ ❤
In my opinion is the most similar Poirot at that you imagine reading Agatha Christie's books.
David as Hercule was the best. His shows on reading the Bible is great. He has three different ways. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Good on him
I LISTEN TO WHAT YOU SAID, BUT I HEAR WHAT YOU MEAN. 👌
David Poirot is Suchet that’s it 😊

sono appassionata dei film di Poirot interpretati da Suchet...vorrei avete filmati della sua carriera e vita in Italiano e' possibile?
She completely melted 🫠
Took her back to her childhood
For me Jeremy Brett will always be The Sherlock Holmes and David Suchet will always be The Hercule Poirot.
David Suchet's voice sound like Simon Cowell from " Britain's got talent" to me!...
SIR David Suchet, not just David, what would Roald Dahl say. Something racist probably.
Sir David
@@davidcooks2379 I'll spell it with capitals if I bluddy like
@@charliedrosario999 no, you don't get it. Sir goes with just the first name, you shouldn't add the last name
