Barolo 2002 Vintage

Not all Vintages are lucky and 2002 suffered a lot of bad luck. Not just the unfavorable weather conditions, but also the press critique which was quick to judge it as a bad vintage. Of course its timing wasn't great, after 6 consecutive amazing vintages, 2002 stumbled along breaking the sequence. Add some rain, heavy hail and general unripeness of the grapes and you have yourself a perfect storm, no pun intended. But let's see how this one has evolved in time, because despite a reduced crop not all hopes were lost!
