The 2020 Renault Captur arrives in Ireland to build on the success of generation #1 of the popular Renault small SUV. Styling has been modernised in line with other models in the Renault range and a brand-new interior delivers more maturity and better quality finish. There are new trim levels and engines, with Captur in Ireland powered by petrol, diesel, and a plug-in hybrid soon to arrive. Customisation remains a key component of the Captur’s approach to the segment.
When the first generation of the Renault Captur arrived in Ireland in 2013, compact SUVs and crossovers were still very much a novelty. The motor industry was dipping a toe into this segment, which we were promised would just grow and grow. And so it came to pass. Like our neighbours in Europe, we too have a special grá for these SUV-inspired small crossovers.
Since then we have seen an explosion in the market with every brand worth its salt launching one. However, in a relatively short space of time the Captur has gained notoriety that many can only dream of. The Captur has always worn its colours boldly, a fun, cheerful Clio-based small SUV that quickly became a hit. For a time it was Ireland’s bestselling B-SUV. Such popularity cannot be ignored but the Captur was starting to be eclipsed by newer rivals.
And so enters generation #2 of the Renault Captur! Earlier in 2020, Changing Lanes was very impressed with the new Renault Clio. Now can Renault capture the same sparkle?

I have never been a big fan of the 1st gen. Captur but this new one is such a big improvement. It drives like a car from a superior segment, don't you think? Almost like a Megane. In my opinion, the design, practicality and especially the quality of the materials in the cabin are some of its strongest points.
I totally agree, it feels more than just a Clio based crossover
Mine broke after the one day . Sensor problem in the engine and it made it to overheat the annoying squeaky screen also broke they are making to fix this car and it’s been away 2 weeks not happy

great video i bought one this week here in ireland white with black roof 1.5 diesel 115 bhp love it really happy i just want to turn off lane assist on it dont know how yet
It is a small switch near the steering wheel. I turned this off as well.

What's the cabin noise like while cruising plus the road holding like?
road noise is not a problem, handling is okay - improved on previous generation but not sporty like a Ford Puma
Am planning to buy one and really confused between Kia stonic and Capture 2020 , nevertheless I love the capture 2020 and it’s almost looks like a Range Rover and really sturdy... any recommendations ??
The Captur feels bigger than the Stonic if that's any help?
offcourse that’s the same I felt too ..so in that segment CAPTUR has an edge and it’s value for money as well ?
@@starsamuel7811 yes I was really impressed with space inside the vehicle. The Peugeot 2008 is worth looking at too.
