seems like a cool little game. I kinda like the flying boys ignoring terrain, adds a bit of strategy to the map building
Maybe,but it IS also frustrating if you can't defend against them with the provided turrets.
Also,I am pretty sure this is just a scifi Rogue Tower.
I think that's supposed to be part of the design. Like how the base has the turrets on the corners AWAY form the opening.
I think you are supposed to try to wrap the path around the base to make the base defenses remotely worth investing in. Well other than that first one.
Though if it had say an air or ground dedicated upgrade path with it branching after getting the initial weapons.

Rogue tower if it was good by the looks of it. That game was abandoned in a pretty half-baked state.

@@ratchetqwark89 it's technically completed, but IIRC Dev admitted that they didn't like what players wanted (stuff like speed multiplier for example ) and chose to abandon the game instead of working on it further.
The result is a game where the way some mechanics interact make the game **feel** unfinished. Most notably how huge the maps grow coupled with slow speed makes waves drag out for far longer than necessary and if you ever wanted to get all achievements the pointless grinding you'll have to do is atrocious.
They need to do something about the flying enemies just going directly to the base. They should at least be restricted to the air space above placed terrain tiles.

In some respects, why should flying units follow a road? You have control of which direction they come from at least
@@Dr.Death8520 For game balance? They should be forced to path THROUGH the start tile THEN go straight. Though the ability to just place like 1-2 base towers or a single AA near the base just negates that for the most part. Though the lmg's should be usable for air at like 1/2 dmg.
Though these types of games live and breath the play a hundred times to upgrade the perm stuff. Usu stuff like income increase, base dmg, unlocks of new stuff, starting cash, etc. So the game it literally the hardest at the start. Though if they do a decent job then things should scale ok as you play. Making the later missions MUCH more worth the difficulty is the normal route. So even a bad run is worth the best of the last. With an ok run being like 2-4x better than a perfect max run of previous difficulty.
Otherwise the people WILL just do the beginning ones to death to min max and crush the later stuff.
Agreed,it's frustrating in a very unfair way.If you get 3 straight paths after a corner,there's no way to kill the flyers.
@@Dr.Death8520 I'm not saying they should follow the road. I'm saying they should only be able to fly in the air space of existing tiles. Otherwise they can completely bypass your defense and go straight to the base.

Is there a reason Tom is allergic to using the high ground positions?😅 Like does damage fall off at longer ranges? Cuz more range seems more good.

you know i could see a 'area control' rts of this to , same way of buildings etc but rather then building a path you got a fat map and the path self 'grows' from the HQ towards stuff you place down only , if your foe 'cuts' it at some point all things not connected to the HQ will start run out of ammo ,and not be affected by any infrastructure effects you got going etc , making 'base rush' a high reward high risk situation and also something where someone on the underfoot got decent chance to fight themselfs back by re-arrangeing their front lines/supply roads hehe
how tom puts his defenses hurts me. That +3 range place was perfect for the one-facing bunker but instead he put it in one of the most nonsensical positions possible
Watching him and then Hatfilms play orcs must die was painful. Who needs to upgrade their towers? Not Tom!

@@Master.chylla Immediately went to check to play demo, was a beta playtest that was not available. I have probably tens of thousands of hours in Tower Defense games going back to early Newgrounds & Kongregate days.

I think this game needs some crazy balancing. Flyers seem way too OP and you don't get but hardly any "cash" to upgrade and get new buildings.

I do love some good Tower Defence, and do really like when they allow you to build a custom route. Altho0ugh XD with the flyers, some extra non path following challenges.
