Where I fish the bank is so hard it is almost impossible to get the commercial rod holders down into the dirt. There are so many rocks and such hard clay, I usually have to lay the rods against my cart. Not the best but it's all I have. Your rod holder is perfect for bank fishing. Make the base a little bigger and the rod angle is perfect for the bank. If something is needed to secure the whole unit, a couple holes in the cross piece allows a spike to be pounded into the bank to keep it from tipping. Thanks for the great idea.

This is a great build. I want the rods laying more down toward the tailgate just because I go down some remote trails and if they are sticking up in the air trees are going to get them for sure. I'll just tilt mine down more thanks for the video.

Nice setup . But I would tapper the inside of the pipe a little so not to scrape the cork off your handles .
