Setup Stripe on WooCommerce (Quick and Easy)

- In this guide, learn how to setup Stripe on your WooCommerce store.

To use Stripe, you must have a Stripe account setup on their website to connect to your store.
1. Enable Stripe in WooCommerce
The first step is to go to your WordPress dashboard, hover over WooCommerce, and go to the Settings.
Next, click the Payments tab.
Finally, click the checkbox to enable Enable Stripe Payment Method and click Setup/Manage.
2. Get Stripe account keys
Next, add in your Stripe account keys.
To get your Stripe account keys, you will need to login to your Stripe dashboard.
From the Stripe dashboard, click Developers and API keys. Then, you will be able to view your publishable and secret keys. Copy these values.
Then, paste these values in the API credentials section. Save Changes.
Next, from the Stripe dashboard, click “add endpoint”, and copy the webhook endpoint in WooCommerce and paste this value in the endpoint url in Stripe.
Finally, copy the webhook secret in Stripe and paste this value in WooCommerce.
Don’t forget to click ‘Save Changes’ in WooCommerce.

hi there, I followed all instructions for testing first (didn't add live API keys yet). I found as soon as I clicked on 'enable striipe', regardless if I had live API keys the stripe option showed up on the payment page even though this new payment option was not ready yet. Any ideas? Also the webhook fails all the time. I used the same one from WP dashboard and entered to stripe
Hi Simon. Things seem to have changed in stripe WEBHOOKS wise. No option any longer to SELECT ALL EVENTS that I could see. You have to go down through each event and inside each one id select all. So still select all OR are there ones that should not be selected?

Turn all plugins off no exceptions. Then turn on only WooCommerce and Stripe. There should only be 2 plugins active. Then switch your theme to a WP default theme like TwentyTwenty or Storefront. Turn shipping off completely. Then test your checkout again. Any luck?

Hey there! You have to enable tokenization on in the Stripe settings in WooCommerce. That will show up if you are using WooCommerce Subscriptions. I have a video on WooCommerce Subscriptions if curious :)

Hey Julius, you can use the same Stripe account if the same business. Get the API keys from Stripe and add into your new website.
@@simongondeck Yes but per stripe's documentation their recommendation is to create new stripe account even if the business is the same but have different website. Hey Jimmy, on your general WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > General and see if WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) both show . If they show , update to for both URLs and Save changes. Afterwards, clear your cache and if still not working try opening your site up in an incognito window.

So the WEBHOOKS section in Stripe has been changed. It's asking me to select specific events. Some of these events look relevant, and some don't. Which ones should, and which ones shouldn't I choose? It's a bit confusing. Can you help with this?

Great video. What happens if let's say you went live, an order came in and failed because the code wasn't entered correctly. If I fixe it will the woocommerce try again to charge the customer automatically?
If you go to that Order and next to "Billing" click edit (i.e. the pencil icon), do you see a Transaction ID?

Hey there! I would ask your client you are working with for their stripe login credentials to log in. If they are not willing to provide you could ask for their live and test api keys. You could also just sign up for a stripe account and then just use test mode (even if you are a freelancer) but you need a business tax ID.

Hey Lissette! Did you check if you have added your Stripe publishable key in WooCommerce >> Settings >> Payments >> Stripe ? I also would try clearing cache.
Is there any way to redirect the customer to a custom URL after Stripe successful payment? Like Paypal "Auto Return" option? Thank you.
By default Stripe sends you to the Order Received page. If you want to send to a custom url after a successful payment I would look at using a plugin such as Custom Thank You pages: sgwp.dev/ppt

Hi, I’m using WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway Version: 4.7.0
But I am unable to fill in the credit card details.
I double-check and I have the correct domain, license keys from Stripe.
I don't think it's my new theme that causing JS errors on my site because I reinstall the default one and still not working. Pls help!
Do you have a SSL certificate installed? What is shown when you change to the default 2021 or Storefront theme? What is your domain?

I cannot get this to work on my site. I think I followed your instructions. I noticed your 'woocommerce' is version 3.8.1 I even tried rolling back to that but it still just shows 'Card number*' and doesn't let me write a card number in. Thanks anyway

yo bro ive been trying setting this stripe up but my test mode doesnt work it says "sorry we are unable to process your payments right now" i tried diff cards provided by stripe but nothing works, i contacted stripe support and they said everythings fine from our end, idk what to do, ive put the right test keys, please help!!

Stripe doesn't show card input field. I have input live APIs,secret,and webhook into Woocommerce and one other plugin. I need to mention that the site is not live yet, without an SSL and the name servers are not pointed. How do you fix this?
Hi there! In live mode, an SSL certificate must be installed on your site to use Stripe.

Please provide a link to your site and explain the issue you are seeing in more detail. Also, what do you mean popup? Are you looking to have Stripe popup instead of be an inline credit card form?

For some reason the payment is not being captured. I've tested live and i can see that my card was charged, but it doesnt show up in stripe on the dashboard. Any ideas?
The status of the payment in the Stripe Payments section is "uncaptured"

@@nicholasicon If you go to the Stripe plugin settings in WooCommerce - Settings - Payments - Stripe, is the Capture setting enabled to "Capture charge immediately"?
@@nicholasicon are you using a SSL certificate? I also would enable "Log debug messages" in the Stripe plugin settings and check the logs by going to WooCommerce - Status - Logs - click dropdown to Stripe logs.
