Thank you and good question! This all depends. If you are just getting started I would recommend using PayPal Standard. PayPal Standard allows customers to suspend, cancel, and reactivate their subscription. However, PayPal Standard is "limited" with WooCommerce Subscriptions as it requires you to apply for Reference Transactions if you want customers to be able to have multiple subscriptions, switch their subscription price or change from one plan to another, change the next billing date, etc. Of course if customers want to change from one plan to another you could always cancel their current subscription and ask them to re-subscribe if they wanted to subscribe to a different subscription plan. Overall, 9 times out of 10 I would recommend PayPal Standard unless you get approved for Reference Transactions right away. PayPal Standard works with WooCommerce Subscriptions without Reference Transactions and easiest to get setup. If your store is doing well you can always apply for Reference Transactions. For reference, I still use PayPal Standard and do not have Reference Transactions yet. This has worked for our store so far. On the contrary, if you use PayPal Express Checkout you have to apply and get approval for Reference Transactions before you can use Express with WooCommerce Subscriptions. After the order is final, I can go in the WooCommerce order, and click the PayPal order number (under the woocommerce order #), and the hyperlink leads to the PayPal "Payment Details" on PayPal.com. It lists the purchase total, tax, shipping charge, tracking #, PayPal fee, and even my shipping cost ("Total Shipping Cost"). I'm wondering if you know of any way to have the "PayPal Fee" and "Total Shipping Cost" sent back into WooCommerce? Then I could use the "Advanced Order Export For WooCommerce" plugin to export all the data I need to calculate Net Income. Thanks!
@@blueridgebrothers You may have to use the PayPal API but I have not used it and Woo does show me any payment fee when I look at Woo api for my paypal orders. If you wanted to get this done ASAP I would use the WooCommerce Zapier plugin and create a zap that triggers when new payment happens in PayPal or you could also do a separate trigger if new order in WooCommerce happens with the payment method PayPal that has status of processing/completed (depending on situation)i f you have multiple payment methods on Wooo). I have recently a serious issue with the PayPal button on my e-commerce site. When clicked, I am getting the notorious message of - “Don’t see the secure Paypal browser? We’ll help you re-launch the new window to complete purchase.” After this message does not happen anything. I have tested this on Chrome/desktop and Mozilla/desktop - this error appears in both cases. On smartphone browsers with all the Mozilla/chrome/android webview browsers there is no problem at all. Iphone’s Safari is not tested. For me, it seems that this happened after the recent update of WordPress but maybe I am wrong. It is a Woocommerce WordPress website with a Flatsome theme. How could I fix this, any ideas, did you met similar problems already?

I think PayPal updated the way they integrate with Woocommerce recently because I installed the PayPayl Checkout plugin and it had a very practical option: a button to connect to your paypal account. I just signed in and that was it!
@Shah Imrul, Yes you can use the same PayPal API login and transaction key information for multiple sites. However, I just would recommend setting the invoice prefix to be different on each store.

That latest version 2.1.1 wont work correctly, spend 2 hours to setup and testing, no luck. you type card details click to pay and get redirect to paypal login website.. no point to use it as standard integrated paypal option working the same, redirecting to paypal logine web page :(

I logged into my paypal account but there is no API Access option under Account Settings or Tools. Yeah I would recommend just having 1. I personally prefer PayPal Standard but understand why people like Express Checkout

Then I came across this on paypal developer and it says the plugin has been deprecated, that we now have to use the button integration instead: developer.paypal.com/docs/archive/express-checkout/integration-guide/ECGoingLive/?mark=paypal%20express%20checkout%20go%20live. Do you have a tutorial on where do to install the code for the button? (I'm new to code so I have no idea where to place this code.)
