Blast From the Past was always my favorite Fraser comedy, though it doesn’t get the recognition I think it deserves. Such a funny, feel good film, it is my go to “comfort” movie. Brendan makes me happy! This renaissance is long past due.

Brendan Fraser was my childhood (Encino man, George of the Jungle, Airheads, With Honors, Bedazzled, the fcking Mummy, even his lesser know The Scout). Always loved his movies. He's very watcheable and has such a presence on screen. I'm loving this resurgence of him in the mainstream spotlight. Hope he's happy. Will be checking out the Whale soon.

Enjoyed this conversation very much. Wishing all the best to Brendan keeps surprising and transcending with every role. It's so fucking cool and refreshing to see fellow Gen Xers just shining brilliantly these days in the face of everything. Been a fan of him since he started in 92'..great guy with well deserved acclamation and continued success. On with the Brenaissance celebration! #cheers

Wow, I did NOT expect this but what a great way to start the day. Fraser is a treasure and seemingly one of the nicest and most humble dudes around. Just like the Keanu Reeves comeback a few years ago (he kind of disappeared from the public eye for a long time too), you can sense that there’s a lot of goodwill from not only the public but also his peers which speaks to his character. Some of the people he worked with in the past - like Sandler and Quan - seem positively happy for him in some of these “actors roundtable” talks and I think that says a lot. Rooting for him for the Oscar. 👏

Saw the Affair. Had a visceral reaction to Gunther character that Brendan played on mini series. Didn’t know it was Brendan that played the role, but I remember thinking that this was a great actor. He took complete ownership of that character right down to his pores. Can’t wait to see The Whale, but I envision acquiring the DVD when it comes out, and viewing it in my home, by myself, so I can wail with total abandonment. Was a great convo guys. After: U guys did so GREAT. Thanku for an hour+ of fun. No one cares but I’ve always loved Brendan. The Mummy(s) are my all time fav (I was harassed for them being on our TV so much).
Also loved Bedazzled. That’s the one, as Dana mentioned, where Brendan did handsome leading man then popped into a big goofball. So much talent. And Liz Hurley in those outfits could turn a girl. Lol j/k.

This was all just beautiful. David and Dana calling themselves narcissists in the beginning was hilarious. They did great continuing to talk about Brendan and his career + the Whale. I haven't seen anyone mention The Last Time yet, where Daniel Stern's character tells Fraser's salesman character "If you're going after Moby Dick, you gotta bring along the tartar sauce!" That line has always stuck with me. 😅 Believe in yourself and good things will happen is how I took that, even though it was a dark comedy. Favorite movies with Brendan: Gods and Monsters, Mummy films, Blast From the Past, Mrs. Winterbourne (absolutely in love with him in that!), George of the Jungle, Encino Man, School Ties.... shoot, just so many! Great as Gunther, but super freaky scary. 😆🤘🏻 Good on him. So happy to see him in the major spotlight again where he belongs. Great actor and good man. 💓

You named the same 10 ( out of 54) movies that everyone can name and 1 of his 6 Tv series. Who would stay relevant in any industry with a poor track record like that? It doesn't take a phony victim narrative to explain it, it's just common sense.

He’s such a cool dude. Too bad y’all kept interrupting him. Y’all sounded so conceited.

Dana carvey says I don't want to give away the ending of the movie but..... Then proceeds to give away almost everything about the end of the movie when.....and then proceeds to further discuss the moment.
Brennan was probably thinking, WTF?!! Dana should know better..... But yes there is a moment at the end of the movie where the big thing at the end of the movie that happens will make you cry....if not, you may not be human.
