  • Cristian Alejandro has had an incredible change after his bimaxillary surgery at the hands of Prof. Hernandez Alfaro which consisted of:
    - advancement, centering and counterclockwise rotation of the jaw
    -advancement and expansion of the maxilla with segmentation between 2-3

      nope. Gustavo is still the masterpiece of Alfaro. This is a pretty average result.
      nothing compares to gustavo's transformation. From a worm looking kid to teen chad

    Are braces necessary? Where would I have to go first to get this done for myself?

    • @InstitutoMaxilofacialBarcelona
      @InstitutoMaxilofacialBarcelona  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Braces are necessary in most cases, but not all. Your surgeon will decide this after your consultation. You can either visit an orthodontist first and they will refer you to a surgeon, or the other way around. If you wish a consultation with us, you can write to international@institutomaxilofacial.com

    Im wondering if invisilign will be ok instead braces before having this done 😮

    • @EthanDBG
      @EthanDBG 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Braces will bring better results so it’s worth it. I just got mine on a couple weeks ago and it doesn’t affect me as negatively as I expected.

      Yes, not a problem

      its not that important honestly.
      in fact its probably better to leave orthodontics until after orthognathic correction is complete.
      using braces before jaw surgery is likely to force the teeth to move more than they need to. not good

    • @dirtylittledoe
      @dirtylittledoe 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @SyedUbaidHassan believe me I'd rather have this surgery done enjoying results without the braces or invisilign but this place and every other says that it needs to be done beforehand

    Does the segmentation of the maxilla allow patients to avoid having jaw expanders and sarpe procedures?

    • @InstitutoMaxilofacialBarcelona
      @InstitutoMaxilofacialBarcelona  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on the amount of the expansion needed. If it's a small expansion yes, if not, both surgeries might be required.

    • @loppyhandford
      @loppyhandford 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My maxilla is not wide enough. I’ve had orthodontics to move the upper and lower teeth to fit together (angled lower molars inwards and .upper molars outwards). Really I should have had an expansion. Do I need to decompensate the teeth first to undo this orthodontic work I had before I can have this surgery or can I have the surgery and then fit it together with orthodontics afterwards?

      Yes, with ageing, the philtrum will lengthen, but this doesn't help anyone who is young. Waiting 30-40 years for the philtrum to lengthen to finally allow the lips to close is bonkers.
