Why the Country Music Hall of Fame would wait so long to induct a country music icon, writer of over 5,000 songs and legend beats the hell out of me. There has never been anyone in Country Music like Toby Keith and there never will be again. Shame on the Country Music Hall of Fame for dropping the ball on this one. Though, from hearing Toby's interviews and acceptance speeches through the years I don't think he much cared about this award. First & foremost, I’m devastated that we, the world lost Toby Keith. I’m very sad that he didn’t know! He is so deserving of this award!! When they found out that there was even a possibility, whatever it is they do for the final selections, should have been done at a faster rate. knowing that Toby was terminally ill with stomach cancer & he held on & worked so much longer than I ever expected, why then, didn’t they know the rate of urgency? Here’s the thing, this man was so deserving of this award and somewhere deep down he knew it too, he had to have known just how wonderful, beloved and revered he was. I know if I had done as much for Country Music as Toby Keith has, I’d wonder, especially being terminally ill, what more should I have done to win this prestigious award. He surely wasn’t winning it because he was terminally ill, no he was winning this award because of all his attributes he’d brought to Country Music. Toby Keith deserved to win this award on his own merits!!

Toby definitely belongs in the hall of fame! But I don't believe it really mattered to him. He knew, his friends and family knew, and his fans definitely knew! He just wanted to march to the beat of his own drum, make his family proud and enjoy music. Hell, enjoy his life and what God blessed him with.

First & foremost, I’m devastated that we, the world lost Toby Keith. I’m very sad that he didn’t know! He is so deserving of this award!! When they found out that there was even a possibility, whatever it is they do for the final selections, should have been done at a faster rate. knowing that Toby was terminally ill with stomach cancer & he held on & worked so much longer than I ever expected, why then, didn’t they know the rate of urgency?
Here’s the thing, this man was so deserving of this award and somewhere deep down he knew it too, he had to have known just how wonderful, beloved and revered he was. I know if I had done as much for Country Music as Toby Keith has, I’d wonder, especially being terminally ill, what more should I have done to win this prestigious award. He surely wasn’t winning it because he was terminally ill, no he was winning this award because of all his attributes he’d brought to Country Music. Toby Keith deserved to win this award on his own merits!!

He says in response to, how do we get you in the Country Music HOF? “ I don’t know how that works” I think you gotta die to get in”

This makes me angry. I have a terrible feeling this was given to him because they knew how sick he was since they have had years to put him in! This is not right! And we all know They had problems with Toby. They didn't like his own "ways" of doing things. Look back at Toby's past with the CMA's. IF Stelon looked "peeved" he had every right! Much love to Toby's family and yes he very much deserves this but it should have been years ago!
