I think Queen has have an important influence on Tuomas. Like Queen, Tuomas, and Nightwish, approach every detail in a very professional manner. There are quite a number of similarities between the two bands. Tuomas/Freddy as writers. Floor/Freddy who seem modest off stahe but thrive on stage. No cocky attitudes, but polite. And every detail of the show is rehersed.
I have said exactly the same on another Nightwish video! Queen and Nightwish are my top two all time favourite bands. I would have given my soul to hear Freddie and Floor sing together live❤️

I have heard several magnificent cathedral organs live in Germany - they are incredible sounding, and incredibly complex to play. Props, absolutely makes sense the Metal Mozart can so easily play one!! Respect, Mr Holopainen.
They've used Philharmonic Orchestras and great Choirs to provide backup sound to some of their works. It doesn't take much imagination to think that an organ work composed by Tuomas won't soar from the sound system at some future concert. I can hardly wait!
Sometimes you can just see the wheels in his head spinning. Oh to be inside his brain for even just a moment. On the flip side though it must be difficult to create along side him in the studio. With genius comes perfectionism. Floor is a perfectionist so she must understand but even she has said recording Nightwish songs are challenging. To be a fly on the wall in the studio!
The church I went to with my family growing up had an organ and on Christmas Eve the organist would add a little “flare” to the music. It’s hard to describe other than to say she played it with more “epicness” and I’ve yet to find anything quite like it on the internet.

Like the not direct translation of the this video, but he enjoyed that so much and loves the atmosphere of the organ, like to a now level. Making it more epic to play. He said that after he had praised the instrument, how magnanimous, pompous, grandious etc. they are - he was quite taken, that there is no grander sound (one extreme way to interpret that is that there ain't no more megalomaniac sound as that).
This proves some of his work might prove better on organ. No way they're going on tour with an organ though. It just makes one wonder what he could do with a Hammond organ, though. I think it'd be awesome. (Also, The show must go on!)

What a treat! In the US, the San Francisco Museum of Art has a pipe organ. It's played for 30 mins on Sunday afternoons. I keep getting the time schedule wrong and miss it, though.
If he ever makes it to the States anytime soon again, there is an absolutely Epic one in Chicago that Rob Scallon did a video on. I'd love to see Tuomas unleashed on that monster!

Have you ever heard the song "Parallels" by Yes? On that one Rick Wakeman plays all the keyboard parts on the Lucerne Cathedral organ. Must have sounded epic in the cathedral itself when they were recording it!

Ah, a new song of the 2020 album will be played with these - so Tuomas will have to have similar ones for Christmas, he just has to. Well, he likely has the cash to buy one of his own. Then on next years gigs he has a full church organ set dragged on the stage. For one or two songs.

Listening to Tuomas playing this organ I can not help comparing him with another classical fruitcake for the ages: one J.S. Bach. Because Johan Sebastian's compositions were as crazy as his.

Ah, a new song of the 2020 album will be played with these - so Tuomas will have to have similar ones for Christmas, he just has to. Well, he likely has the cash to buy one of his own. Then on next years gigs he has a full church organ set dragged on the stage. For one or two songs.
This time the pipes will be real instead of a prop (facade). lol

I really love the sound of organs, but people tend to play such boring pieces on them... not Tuamos though. I'd love to hear a lot more of what he can do with that instrument!

Listening to Tuomas playing this organ I can not help comparing him with another classical fruitcake for the ages: one J.S. Bach. Because Johan Sebastian's compositions were as crazy as his.
