    WHAT IS CEDH?
In competitive Commander, players may use more powerful and efficient cards to try to gain an advantage over their opponents. The goal is usually to create a deck that can quickly and effectively win the game, often through strategies like combo decks that aim to execute a specific sequence of actions to win in a single turn.

You can also assemble breach from a single card using either gamble (if you dont discard the breach), demonic tutor or similar tutor too depending on the amount of grave you have. Just tutor breach, cast breach escape tutor and repeat until you have the full line. They also require pretty similar amounts of mana that you need for spellseeker but with the upside of not needing final fortune that can make you lose the match from time to time.

This 100%. Strictly 2 combo resources better, and likely better odds of not whiffing out. Plus Demonic > Enlightened in non combo circumstances.
I’d probably just run both in 5c.

I have a Jeskai stax deck with divergent transformation as the win. It uses Akiri and Ishai to benefit from the stax and beat people to death, while having divergent as a one card combo.
Previously I had Niv Mizzet and Tandem Lookout as the only two creatures in the deck.
But I might swap it for Dockside and Spellseeker as I've already got the breach package in there.

Just a small addendum, if you don't have enough cards in the graveyard to cast ephemerate from the grave before brain freeze, you can simply let some copies of brain freeze and then cast it with the cards milled by the first few copies of brain freeze.

    • @timothydalton2388
      @timothydalton2388 2 ปีที่แล้ว

you would brain freeze in hand for this, assuming you have no graveyard, which well possible, is unlikely given the prominence of fetchlands and counterspells in cEDH. So generally you need either brain freeze in hand or 3 cards in grave, 6 if you want to be sure you find LED or petal

    • @ShinkuDragon

@@timothydalton2388 you could've just started with a couple rocks and/or not cast enough spells to fill the grave.

hmm perhaps I'll find a slot for these in Cecily Sophina. Ephemerate isn't a completely dead card cause it lets your commanders dodge removal.

Mans I am not sure this works.
Of course I am going by my knowledge of the comprehensive rules. I am happy to be corrected.
We cast Ephemerate from our hand. This activates Rebound. We place it into exile as part of that keyword. This keyword allows us to then cast this card from exile on the next upkeep. However this does not move this into the graveyard.
When we cast Underworld breech it cannot find Ephermate as that card is not in our graveyard.
It would work with Ghostly Flicker.

@@listeningtomusic7665 the comprehensive rules are complex and I will write a comprehensive comment after work on exactly how it works later. The short answer is that it does work. However the part of the rules I was quoting was right. However it is in the rulings where this combo works.

You can play tales end to counter the loose the game trigger from final fortune instead of Thassa's oracle. This makes the straight forward mill everyone out plan viable. As well as it removes Thassa's oracle from the deck which is a relatively dead card outside of the combo. Whereas tales end can counter commanders stifle a fetchland etc.
If you also run other etb tutor cards in the deck (eg recruiter of the guard or imperial recruiter) ephemerate gains a little more in playability.
Going down this route can also enable other overlapping combos eg bomberman.
Overall a very good package to include in Jeska // Ishai and many other jeskai decks.
