Thanks for the great video I love the Hudson way better than a Chevelle Camaro or Nova or Mustang yep sick of looking at them I've owned a lot of them Hudson's are awesome have a great day I'll keep watching keeps me inspired I can't build cars anymore cuz I'm really old but I can enjoy a channel have a great day Merry Christmas
Love your Hudson Pacemaker. My first car was one just like this, even the same color. The dashboard had the beautiful gauges with the reflective numbers that would glow after the lights were turned off. The years have taken some toll on your car, but I absolutely love it. 😎👍 So many fun memories of Hudsons my Dad had when we were growing up. Merry Christmas & enjoy your new toy !
@dalehinshaw3764 Thanks for sharing that story. Your right, the years have have taken its toll but slowly I will get her back as best as I can. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
What a car!! Nice survivor and a "sleeper"to boot. Replacement door cards and Penetrol on the paint will work wonders on appearance.. Thanks for sharing.
@hueyshotrod5535 looking forward to that. We will have and enjoy a Hudson kind of summer especially when we get your pacemaker and the convertible road worthy.
Absolutely gorgeous ride! Hudsons just have such an elegant look about them that you just don't get from other cars of that era, and yours is an absolute gem! Seeing your Hudson REALLY makes me wish I could drive my AMC Ambassador right now, but it hopefully should be back on the road soon!
@libertyman3729 I know right! It's crazy how much room compared to modern cars. It seems like the inside of the trunk goes on forever. It will make some great storage for our cooler and lawn chairs for the car shows.
@ I’m with you My first ever car was a 51 pacemaker Coupe my Dad gave me. I got it running No brakes lol. Cruised up and down Chicago alleys. No license , 14 years old Don’t tell dad. lol
All old car folks know of the Hudson Hornet that won many races. This Hudson Pacemaker is a classic hot rod of the day and extremely cool. I love this car. Thanks to all who saved this great piece of American hot rod history. It needs to be in one of the magazines. I love the body style.
@garycousino Thank you. I feel in love with it when I first put eyes on it. I guess I was at the right place right time to be able to purchase. My wife thinks I love it more than her but I reassured her it's a different kinda love. Lol
@dalehinshaw3764- Yeah, my dad had a black one too. He had had a Terraplane years before he was ever anybody’s dad, and he was a Hudson fanatic after that. He really loved that Pacemaker, and he was unhappy when it started to show its age and he had to replace it in ‘54. But he consoled himself by replacing it with a ‘54 Hornet Special. It was kind of funny, the symbol on the periodic table for my dad’s foot was Pb. He had 2 speeds; Full Stop and Full Speed. Anything in between was transitional. 😊 The Pacemaker had the 232 cid, with 3 on the tree, the Hornet had the 308, but he had gotten it with the GM Hydramatic so my mom could drive it; the stick shift gave her fits. Dad always said that Pacemaker was quicker off the line, and he could slip the clutch and burn rubber, which the Hornet couldn’t do, with the Hydramatic. Of course power braking was out of the question with those transmissions. Boy, this evokes memories, Big time!😁
@@hotrodhudson18- Yeah! And thank You for that Outstanding video! Extremely well executed and full of the kind of info that guys like Us would pour over our Cheerios! 😊
@@garycamara9955 I'm not familiar with the SU carbs but have been doing a lot of research since buying this car. Seems like they are a very solid and reliable carb used on many different European cars. I like the simplicity of them too.
Wow. 5 speed , turbo, AC., Jag carb, full docunentation. Great find!!

What are "magazines"?
@@buzzwaldron6195 Yes, I guess most are gone.
The design stylists made a work of art in sheet metal. These cars were top stock car runners. Look out!!!! very coolest!

@davidnance-d3n the same guy that did all of the other modifications.
Step down into that turbo H-Power.
@@misterhipster9509 thats right!
308 six?? Did I misunderstand something?
@stevelangston2359 yes a 6 cylinder 308 Hudson motor.
And all Flathead, all the time.
The engine that ruled NASCAR 1950 - 1952... until Olds took over...
That's turn key.
@gphilipc2031 it sure is. It really doesn't need much other then a little elbow grease here and there. I plan on keeping it pretty much how she sits.
damm i have to say it, paint that puppy.
Needs paint.
@peterpann9619 gonna clean it up and clear it to keep the patina. Maybe someday I'll do a full restoration and paint it.
Thats an SU carburetor.

And SU are still making carbs and repair kits because so many cars that used them are still about .
Nope. 308 six!!
