I have my OnePlus 3T for 2 years now and it's still great there is a bit of burn-in on the display but it's on the bottom and you can barely see it but the most importent thing is that it's still fast unlike my friend's Galaxt S7 that can barely run WhatsApp the OnePlus 3T has no problem doing everything I need, I knew that thos 6GB of RAM are going to show it in a year or two and I was goddam right. still a great phone i hope I won't break it any time soon so I could continue using it for another year at least.
A 2019 revisit to the OnePlus 5T would be very nice. Maybe drawing parallels among the 5T and the Pocophone F1. They are about the same price (used 5T) ion some markets.
I had the same predicament. I ended up choosing the 5T. I got to try the Poco F1 while in Taiwan, and don't regret my decision at all. Compared to the 5T, the Poco is incredibly buggy, there's this weird screen latency issue that's most noticeable when typing. It only took a few minutes for me to find this too. So far the 5T has been almost flawless, I only wish the vibration motor were stronger.
@@Midomad the Poco is only better on specs, in real life the 5t beats it every time, OxygenOs is better, amd it still has everything you need, and the screen is great. Only get the Poco F1 if you need a backup phone that has loud speakers, ir port, sd card. If you want a daily driver I think 5t is way better. You can get what you want with your money but...
Great video, I've just ordered a 2nd user oneplus 3T 128gb for £60 delivered on ebay, comes with dash charger and cable, as a backup phone for my oneplus 7 Pro, I've pretty much owned every oneplus phone, except the oneplus 3 and the very first oneplus released phone.
Not sure what it is, but I originally got my op3 end of 2016, and even now, I seem to find myself going back to it. I got the s8 plus mid 2017, and went back to the op3, then I had the op6t last year, and still ended up moving back to my op3. This year, I pre-ordered the galaxy S10, and ended up returning it, as I somehow (don't know why) still prefer to use the op3. Honestly love this phone so much
YES! ITS WORTH IT! I had Redmi Note 5, Mi A2, and i sold them because i was looking for something to use daily. Today i bought OP3T for less then 70$ (yes, less then 70$) and its amazing. Camera is way better on OP3T, Performance too, but it loses on battery side. I dont think that you even can buy something in 100-200$ category, if you're looking to buy something in this price range, just buy it.
I bought mine for 100 bucks as my brother-in-law "needed" to have the 6T. With a cheap leather case and with the 3T being such an awesome piece of hardware still turns heads!
Using for over 2 years and still love it. But camera not close the best thing here. Battery also retiring with time, but i have to say even this 2/3 capacity of the battery gave around 4 hours of screen. That's the most important thing to OnePlus 3T - software stability and optimization. Never losing notifications or background processes and it runs out 1-2% battery sleeping at night.
Using OnePlus 3T stills but with Lineage OS. Giving it a second life and repairing it, I do own a OnePlus 8 and love it as well but 3T will hold a special place in my heart.
a 3T user here bought it in the first week of Jan 17. Dropped it hell lot of times but to my luck the screen didn't crack. However, the drops had a bad impact on Camera and the cam was in its worst condition. Had a friend's 3T which went blank after just one year of use. So I just got my cam replaced with his. Then the cam became all new. Also, the battery life is deteriorating month by month. Planning to get it replaced so that I can push the device for 2 more years. The price for battery replacement is also very reasonable. If you have a 3T in good working condition then you don't need to upgrade!!! Cheers
I wanted this phone back in 2016, however it didn't work with Verizon. I wanted the Faster 821 at 2.35Ghz/6GB, but was forced to settle with the Pixel XL's slower 821 2.1ghz/4GB...
Just brought one for £126.50, pretty excited for the phone but sceptical of the camera. Hopefully gcam makes it better. Or should I have gotten a Pixel instead?
Wow this is a real good video, how you talk about the phone and the type of camera angles you use are awesome! Thank you for this neat video :) Do you review laptops/tablets by chance?
For users who are looking to buy this product, there is a hardware bug, that kicks in at some point after system update. Its a focus problem that renders the camera unusable, but they provide free service even after the warranty ends, so good news..
On the Op3t right now. Second one plus in a row. Not going back to One Plus, I had a terrible experience with both the phones. I'm a moderate user and I keep ample free storage on the phone but my One Plus will just crash and go black screen for hours and hours. This started happening less than a year into using the Op3t. It's laggy as hell too. SOOOO disappointed.
man i can't express how happy i am with my oneplus3T!! dropped it several times and had to get the screen replaced last week. Still the fastest and the best phone! still has home button and a headphone jack :)
My father purchased this phone in February 2017, it's still holding up fantastically. No slow downs, or crashes, only the battery has deteriorated a bit with age.
been using my 3t for about 2 years now, it has some bad burn in from the top bar icons, and feels sluggish at times, but other than that it's still serving me well, battery still easily lasts a day, I expect it to last me for a while yet
Thanks for the great video! Let's face it, OnePlus is a really innovative company and the specifications are not that far off of today's phones. I just recently purchased it oneplus5 because of this. Loving it.
i have both . the oneplus 5 has better battery life and performance but i still prefer oneplus 3 design . it look cleaner in my opinion and it doesen't have the wired coated aluminium of the oneplus 5
@@leonardoranaldobettarini7603 I agree with you. My oneplus5 is very slippery. In fact, I need to get a case for it just for this reason. I like the style of the 3T better. I think they were trying to copy the iPhone a little too much with the oneplus5 design. Having said that, I think the phones are great and wonderful alternative to the newer phones out there. These are flagships of just a few years ago.
With Havoc OS 2.2 my OP3 still do 25 hours of sot with 4h/4.30h of screen, it's smoother than 2 years ago, it's fast and have a lot of features and customisation. And with Google Camera (tooylan 1.4) the camera it's awesome, especially the night mode. I will use this phone for another 2 years
As buttery smooth, clean customizable oxygen os is with my previous experience with a 3T, 6 and 6T~ i found it a bit lacking in features I'm used to with samsung. Also oxygen os had some weird software bugs and quirky behavior like aggressive background app killing, the home launcher occasionally hanging and pausing etc
Couple of notes about the video, as I barely ever contribute. My OP3 (not the T) also had a severe case of screen burn, most notably in the status bar where the same display was showing all the time. I personally prefer standard wire-charging to wireless, and with OnePlus' improvements with Dash Charge, this just makes it even better. I used to buy OnePlus because of the brand and spec sheet, and these were the main factors when I bought my OnePlus 3 and my 5T, although I am looking to possibly get the T of the next generation (I guess 7T), but this is almost solely due to the fact that I find OxygenOS an absolute delight, I genuinely love it. A final point is that even with the 5T (which was one of the first - if not the first (I am unsure as to whether the 5 had Face Unlock before the 5T) - OnePlus device with Face Unlock) I do not use the Face Unlock. I used it for probably 6 months, but to be honest, it started to become an inconvenience if I just wanted to check the time or glance at a notification. I now only use the fingerprint sensor on the rear of the phone. I don't even think that a phone with a dedicated sensor for the facial/iris recognition would convince me to start using it again, unless I had the option for it to unlock when I chose (e.g. on a swipe up) And a final comment about the video itself, I love the lighting behind you giving the glow on your face while still having the softbox lighting it correctly, very cool, very nice. Love you man, keep up the good work
The answer is no. The camera doesn't reflect current advances in the slightest. I have the worst pixel burn on the qled display and the battery gets worse. I loved my OnePlus 3T but I literally have a Snapchat search bar and keyboard burnt into the screen... It's never been damaged or water damaged.
I love too my Oneplus 3T, but I have the Instagram bars burnt into the screen too. I tryed a lot of thing to solve this, but I can't fix it. Luckily only I see burned screen with clear background colors, but it's a little annoying...
@@Alexxpickering yes, I know I'm IT (Computer technician) and I can fix and repair some phones and tablets, but the hope is the last to die... I would not rule the possibility, in a future, to change the screen for enlarge the phone's life 2 years more
I'm watching this from a OnePlus 3, which also still works absolutely great. Not just great for an aging phone - great overall for everyday use and even for gaming to this day. I never even think about replacing it, even though many people around me have much more recent phones. When I tried the 6T recently, I didn't feel like swapping this at all. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the camera, you can see its' age there, so if I decide to replace it, the only reason I can imagine is the camera. Seriously, I broke my original OnePlus 3 5 months ago and it was absolutely totaled. I was thinking for two weeks about which new phone I want to buy, and then I bought another OnePlus 3 used for around 130 pounds in mint condition instead of getting a new device. I felt like anything I tried from the Galaxy S9 to the OnePlus 6T wouldn't provide me anything more than the OP3 for a fraction of their price other than the camera, which I don't care about that much as I use a DSLR when I feel like taking nice photos, and even Nokia's new all-camera device can't really compare to that anyway. I put the Skydragon OS custom Android 9 ROM on it, and it tackles Android 9 perfectly. p.s.: Android 9 is officially coming for the 3 and the 3T from OnePlus later this year, FYI.
Ain't upgrading anytime soon. My OP3T hasn't slowed down ever since and I'm still using it for making travel videos on the go. Friends with newer devices still pick my clips for some reason. Quite a dependable smartphone, really.
I upgraded to the OP5T but still use my OP3T on wifi every day while in bed and my OP5T is on its dock. The only reason I upgraded was because I was experiencing lag in the FB app for like a month. Turns out it was just the app and not the phone because once I got a couple of app updates it went away. But yeah, definitely buy a OP3T if you are looking to save some money.
If you want to check out other oneplus devices in the nearer future, could you then make an video about the oneplus two? Even if it hasn't aged as well as the 3, I think it's still a very capable phone.
Watching this on a OnePlus 3T... Mine has a slight OLED burn in now aswell - at the status bar... I really don't ever want to have a phone without Dash Charge like charging though and I really enjoy OxygenOS... I also use the face unlock feature which doesn't count as an identification method for things like authorizing PayPal transactions or Play Store purchases... So it is less secure but for the really critical things the phone still relies on the front mounted fingerprint reader and I've never came across somebody who was able to unlock my phone with his face... I also really like the physical buttons in the lower chin... I think they're far superior to on screen buttons... Those modern devices with high screen to body ratios look good though... Unfortunately most of them are lacking a headphone jack and cost a hell lot of money, that's why I'm still sticking with my 3T and especially if the Android 9 update comes sometime this year I am more than happy to do so...
I am still using oneplus 3t. Its been close to 2 years. And its working as good as a new phone. Though i change my phones every year. But this is one phone i am sticking to. Its an awesome phone of oneplus no matter how many new versions come up.

Still rocking the 3T! It has a little screen burn-in, and about 85% of it's original battery, but It's sure as hell is one of the best devices I have ever owned. Probably gonna upgrade 1-2 years later.
Oxygen OS in older devices like op3 not allowing apps to run in background for long even if you turn off all battery optimisations. Not good for apps like sleep trackers, glasswire, torrents etc..
I have been using this phone since a short while after it released. Zero problems so far. Won't upgrade until it's actually not functional anymore. I have no idea what other improvement I would personally want.
Is a bit too big in my hands and the sides are too thin. Whenever I'm holding the phone watching a TH-cam video, my fingers would accidentally touch the screen and skip 120secs. Its also really slippery. The weight distribution is also weird where you can't really hold it with one hand while the phone is horizontal.
Still have my 3t, i rooted it with a custom rom. Its probably the best phone i ever used. I plan on upgrading very soon but my phone works perfectly. yes the battery isnt the best, but batteries degrade after time and need to be replaced. prob will upgrade to 6t or the oneplus 7.

Poco is Better in all terms...
Mehdi Chtibi list them then
@@Midomad the Poco is only better on specs, in real life the 5t beats it every time, OxygenOs is better, amd it still has everything you need, and the screen is great. Only get the Poco F1 if you need a backup phone that has loud speakers, ir port, sd card. If you want a daily driver I think 5t is way better. You can get what you want with your money but...
@@MrNubshow it had touch issue but they are all fixed in the latest update..(btw they typing issue was fixed in Jan update)
hmm, i upgraded from 2 to 6 when the 6 launched. never thought 5 would've been a viable option. EXCELLENT video!
Watching on my 3t... Still runs great!
Everything about this phone still holds up and it's always being updated. Love the metal design and I'm sure I'll be using it for another 2 years
Nice video. I recently repaired a 3T from my friend. What a good phone..
I dont think that you even can buy something in 100-200$ category, if you're looking to buy something in this price range, just buy it.
make a vid about oneplus 5t in 2019
I have a oneplus 5. Only thing that aged is the optics
5t is pretty good smart but not so old as 3t for making such vid
Makswan01 it’s turning 2 this year
@@quchi7232 anyway it`s not so old
I bought mine for 100 bucks as my brother-in-law "needed" to have the 6T.
Up to this minute I am using, excellent quality, keep going OnePlus team work, thank you very much for your great efforts
Using OnePlus 3T stills but with Lineage OS. Giving it a second life and repairing it, I do own a OnePlus 8 and love it as well but 3T will hold a special place in my heart.
Still rockin my 3t it's a beast and has no issues still.
a 3T user here bought it in the first week of Jan 17.
The Pixel is better in most other ways though to be honest. Of course at the time the 3T was better value.
Just brought one for £126.50, pretty excited for the phone but sceptical of the camera. Hopefully gcam makes it better.
Or should I have gotten a Pixel instead?
Where did you buy it may I ask?
@@garycorrales5493 eBay. Pretty low in price now if you get it preowned. Refurbished is around 140-180 I think.
Yes! commenting off my oneplus 3T right now
Watching on my OP3T. switch to other andoid phone for couple of days. Just keep comming back to OP3T. Still an amazing phone with ported camera app.
man i can't express how happy i am with my oneplus3T!! dropped it several times and had to get the screen replaced last week. Still the fastest and the best phone! still has home button and a headphone jack :)
I still dont get it how the 3T had OIS, but the 5/5T didnt. Prolly my biggest complaint about my 5T is the camera.
I have never liked that OxygenOS, I have always had my 3T running LineageOS
Also there is android 9.0 for 3T
There's no official Pie release yet, only custom roms.
Theres Android 10 now
My father purchased this phone in February 2017, it's still holding up fantastically. No slow downs, or crashes, only the battery has deteriorated a bit with age.
been using my 3t for about 2 years now, it has some bad burn in from the top bar icons, and feels sluggish at times, but other than that it's still serving me well, battery still easily lasts a day, I expect it to last me for a while yet
man i really love your type of videos!
Still running my 3T for three years and no problems. It's a great phone.
I will use this phone for another 2 years
Have been waiting for this video
As buttery smooth, clean customizable oxygen os is with my previous experience with a 3T, 6 and 6T~ i found it a bit lacking in features I'm used to with samsung. Also oxygen os had some weird software bugs and quirky behavior like aggressive background app killing, the home launcher occasionally hanging and pausing etc
Yes, i use nethunter on oneplus 3t and its working very good, batery too
Couple of notes about the video, as I barely ever contribute.
I don't even think that a phone with a dedicated sensor for the facial/iris recognition would convince me to start using it again, unless I had the option for it to unlock when I chose (e.g. on a swipe up)
And a final comment about the video itself, I love the lighting behind you giving the glow on your face while still having the softbox lighting it correctly, very cool, very nice.
Love you man, keep up the good work
between a Oneplus 3T and a Pocophone, both at the same price, which one do u think is the best for the money?
The answer is no. The camera doesn't reflect current advances in the slightest. I have the worst pixel burn on the qled display and the battery gets worse. I loved my OnePlus 3T but I literally have a Snapchat search bar and keyboard burnt into the screen... It's never been damaged or water damaged.
I love too my Oneplus 3T, but I have the Instagram bars burnt into the screen too. I tryed a lot of thing to solve this, but I can't fix it. Luckily only I see burned screen with clear background colors, but it's a little annoying...
@@DJ_SNAHS IM afriad when the screen burns there is no fix other than replacing the pixels
@@Alexxpickering yes, I know I'm IT (Computer technician) and I can fix and repair some phones and tablets, but the hope is the last to die... The problem is that the screen is a little expensive for a phone thath have made more than 2 years, but it's about AMOLED screens... I would not rule the possibility, in a future, to change the screen for enlarge the phone's life 2 years more
Honestly how much time do you spend on Snapchat wtf
@@DJ_SNAHS mate I wasn't talking to you talking to op
Loved the presentation dude! Great work!
OnePlus 3T was amazing. Honestly like it more then my 6T.
I miss my OnePlus X. One of the best Budget Smartphone i've ever used.

@@burhankhuzema102 yeah definitely some great phones for less then 600$ I wish the newer versions had that old look and materials on the exterior
Love my 3T.
The battery's deterioted and the rear camera doesn't focus nowdays.
But, other than that, no any complaints!
I replaced the camera already

From Nepal. Will cost Hella lot to ship the phone off.
Keep making videos man. I like your vids
As a proud OnePlus 3T owner, I support this video appearing in my recommended 100%
still loved mine, but "had" to get the 6T. plan to keep it as a side phone for sports etc.
Still love my OnePlus 3. I wanna upgrade to a custom ROM but I'm afraid of losing my camera features like slow motion.
I am still using oneplus 3t. Its been close to 2 years. And its working as good as a new phone. Though i change my phones every year. But this is one phone i am sticking to. Its an awesome phone of oneplus no matter how many new versions come up.
I'm still using my 3T midnight black variant and it still going strong! Only one problem, the USB-C port and the aux port needs to be replaced. whatever I put in the phone, it falls straight out. Anybody else who has these problems ?
I got the 3t when it came out and I have the Gmod on it for the camera and it takes good pictures for a older phone
Still rocking the 3t. I just installed a new Battery and running sky dragon Os ( pie ). It runs great still and Uses hardly Nothing of battery. Best phone I ever had.
I alredy have the OnePlus 3, and I'm very happy with it. The only thing I miss is a higher screen ratio.

I've had mine for several years and still love it. Best bang for your buck.
The best quality mobile i have ever had. Keep going OP

I'm still using op3t, everything runs fine except some games which Will drain battery real fast and make phone Hot when running HD like PUBGM.
Another thing that annoys me is that google apps have issues with auto updating. My Google play service/Google play store, etc. is never Up to date, I have to download the APK myself and sometimes I don't get update for apps until I restart my phone then suddenly I get notification that some apps has updates lol.
Still use my oneplus 3 for almost 3 years now. One thing tho, the battery is quite deteriorated and the rear camera autofocus/ois is broken. I tried replacing it with a new camera module, still no luck. I ended up just putting a neodymium magnet on the case. Other than those two, the phone still runs pretty good. Anyone here with their 3/3T dead autofocus?
