Been playing in open D for quite a long time. You just gave me a reason to go back to standard tuning!!! So beautiful. Thank YOU!
That's awesome to hear! I'm glad you loved it, thanks for watching :)
Super new guitar Tony. Sounds perfect! Thanks for the tutorial.
It really is! I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching! :)
Allman Brothers tones.
I get your point sir. All about roots and love for music. I love Allman Brothers. The last couple of years, my best live concert experiencies has been 4 conserts in Europe with Blackberry Smoke. Great band from Georgia US. I think you know about them. Greetings from Denmark. Have a nice day sir.
@@bjornbjorn8235 Right on!
And do the same!

@@Pat-nl4wkYes sir! 🎵Crossroads, seem to come and go, yeah. Gypsy flies from coast to coast!!!🎶😊
Good introduction to the cord diatonic scale.
Beautiful chord progression, beautiful guitar!
Indeed it is! Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
It sounds great Tony, cheers 👍
It does! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Thanks, Tony!
Beautiful sound from beautiful instrument!

Jeff

You're very welcome! I'm delighted you find the concepts interesting. Sending cheers right back to South Australia! It's wonderful to connect over music from across the globe. Keep on exploring and enjoying your musical journey! Thanks for watching! :)
Another great lesson. Was doing my scales and finger strengthening exercises and thought what's Tony up to. Opened up TH-cam and this lesson was ready to go. Perfect timing and will expand the use of the neck. Cheers man 👍
That's awesome timing! Cheers to you too, thanks for watching, and keep up the great work! :)
Your doing really good Tony! Keep up the hard work. I like watching your video's.
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement! Your support means a lot to me! :)
Easy to follow instruction. Thank you sir
You are very welcome! Glad it helped!
i hear parts of Gregg Allman's "Melissa"
I was just about to say the very same thing till I saw you mentioned it already here.
Beautiful guitar!
Indeed! Thanks a lot!
Appreciate that this lesson takes me up the neck Tony!
Had an Aha moment in the two last triads too. I’m still learning but looked like the Am7 shape and that helps me add some embellishments.. will play around with jamming 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for making these videos ❤
That's fantastic! Jamming is where the real fun begins! Keep exploring and jamming, my friend! Thanks for your continued support! :)
Glorious
Thank you Tony. Nice Sigma you have there. Many years ago I owned a 1980 Sigma by Martin DR-41 Made in Japan MIJ CIJ rosewood back and sides. I have a Martin acoustic I've played for many years now and I love it. I'm looking forward for your next video. Take care and hope to see you soon Sir.
Thank you for your kind words! It sounds like you've had some wonderful guitars over the years. I appreciate your support and look forward to sharing more amazing lessons soon. Take care too and thanks for watching! Keep strumming, my friend! :)
Great lesson, forgotten completely this chord progression. the last two triads the A & B are totally new for me. So thank you Tony. The trick now is to use them when I perform??
Love the new guitar mate, such a big sound for a parlour, beautiful looking as well. I always thought I needed a big name guitar like Martin or Taylor, but honestly, some of these cheaper models sound just as good to me. Awesome lesson Tony 👏
Thanks a lot! It's really about finding the one that speaks to you and matches your style. Thanks for your continued support, mate!
cool stuff
Thanks, man!
Who knows where the time goes - Sandy Denny
another great lesson, the chord played after the C flat minor is an A then followed by a B. if you could confirm would appreciate it. many thanks.
Hi Tony I have a Mahogany Grand Concert (an Orangewood ) I love the Guitar but still have not settled on what strings I like best on it 80/20's or phosphor bronze ( D'Addario ) I was just curious what you put on that one ? I have a 1989 made in Korea Sigma Dreadnaught haven't seen many Sigma's being used in years that is a stunner !
Great video, Tony, as ever. Off the top of my head, this progression - or parts of it, at least - can be heard in songs such as 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes'? (Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention), 'Baby, I'm-a Want You' (Bread), 'I Shall Be Released' (Dylan/The Band) and 'Something In The Air' (Thunderclap Newman). I've also used these chords in covers of Joni Mitchell songs when I can't be arsed re-tuning to Joni's weird and wonderful open tunings. You can do 'Big Yellow Taxi' with just those chords...
I also leave the A open on this pattern
Listen to Melissa by the Allman Brothers and you’ll hear your first 3 chords. Beautiful guitar.
Ah, such a timeless classic! That's great! And I'm glad you loved it. Thanks for watching, my friend! :)
Got a Sigma for my 10th anniversay. 28 years later it still sounds great. Love to play the basic major chords up the neck leaving open strings for the fullness (voicings?). Nice demo.
That's fantastic! Sigma guitars have a way of holding up beautifully over the years. I'm glad you enjoyed the lesson. Keep on strumming and making beautiful music with your Sigma! Thanks for watching, Amigo! :)
Merci. I live in Europe, I'll keep an eye out for you.
Are you playing clubs or busking?
Early morning rain. Paul weller
Sounds a bit like Melissa from the Allman Brothers.
Great! Thanks for watching! :)
Melissa is my go-to when I play a good guitar.
Beautiful Sigma!! A friend plays a Sigma, and I think it sounds as good as any Martin.
I like that chord progression. I will have to tune the six string back to open tuning from drop D. Been in a drop D phase a while. Time for a change. 👍✌️
Indeed it is! Many thanks! Enjoy exploring the chord progression! Thanks for your support, amigo! :)
That new a you found can also be a D cord if you put your ring pinger on B you had D
Thanks Tony still Greece missing my guitar. Think I might get a boussouki. Cheers
You're welcome! Well, if you can't strum your six-string, why not really shake things up with a bouzouki? 😃 Cheers to musical adventures, my friend!
Melissa by the Allman Brothers Band
Fabbydoo lesson as always!
Thanks again!
very much in the style of joan armatrading's Love and Affrction
Leave out the C#m and it's Spirit's version of Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone.
How do I get a sigma guitar sounds amazing ❤
Nice guitar you have there. Thanks for the tip 😉 it looks and sounds great
It is! Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Rock on! 🎸
Nice guitar Tony!! Love Sigma's. Awesome guitars for the money. 🙂
It is! Thank you. Definitely offers a fantastic blend of quality and value. Glad you're a fan too!
@@GuitarME Which model was it? 00 something?
which strings do you use?
What gauge strings?
I hear David Gates in there.
I have a Sigma that I found someone had abandoned covered with stickers and needed a bridge saddle, string pins and strings. Nothing great, but sounds pretty. They make nice instruments, got lucky!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
Tony I have a Sigma SDR D28 amazing
That's awesome. Indeed an amazing guitar, my friend!
Sounds like Del Amitri
It's a beautiful guitar, not cheap at $2000.

Reminds me of "watch me" by labi siffre. Great Song check it out
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely give it a listen. Thanks for watching, man!
Never board with you lesson's another guid yin
I'm glad to hear that! Thanks for your support, and I'm glad you're finding value in the lessons. Keep on learning and playing! And thanks for watching! :)
Nice guitar. The Asians always go over the top and have too much ginger bread, trying to distract you from the fact that you are playing Chinese made.
What’s the problem here
@@rickfifield6965 No problem! That’s why I’m having a Bud Light with Peyton Manning!
