    One of the best investments i ever made was an outdoor wood burner. I freakin love it. How warm the house is and the money i save is awesome

      Yeah there’s nothing better. That’s for sure.

    Hi Matt, good to see you did not comment on the other video on the locust forgot. You got that big boiler man, doing a lot of things man she’s hungry. Take care Matt!👍🇺🇸

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s all good man. Yeah been non stop. Yeah she can be hungry when the heat demand is high. Heating right now house/attached garage. Both big shops. So about 10k sqft plus the kiln non stop. Lots of BTU’s.

      Yeah so far has made a big difference with how more efficient the boiler and heaters are running.

    Great vid, I have a C500 I heat 12,000 sqr. feet. Just got my Boiler Commander hooked up. Reduced smoke by 80% and cut wood consumption in half. No joke! Gassers not for me, I have no neighbors but this thing is game changer!

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I have seen those. Is it a bunch of probes/sensors everywhere? Also what did that cost you? Easy to hook up?

      @@Treestofirewood not too bad. Pretty easy. I've got a video coming out Sunday on it. I think it's the real deal.

    Wow that wood boiler is a beast. It swallows a ton of wood 😂. It’s definitely being worked with all your demand on it. My unit smokes but it’s only in short cycles. That pump I installed best investment it circulates boiler water so efficiently. Great video. Matt. Smoke hood vent shroud great idea. I Like it.

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah she’s definitely working now. I have something’s to do to make it even more efficient. Then I will have a really good set up. But I do have to get the hood vent really working good. Or maybe I will install an exhaust fan in the chimney pipe to maybe keep the smoke in the boiler and get it to go up instead of out the door. Not sure if that would work or not.

    • @BW35bucket
      @BW35bucket วันที่ผ่านมา

      Now that would be super cool to install a fan ( blower) in chimney.

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah I think that would make a huge difference when loading. To keep the draft going and smoke should go up and out.

    • @BW35bucket
      @BW35bucket วันที่ผ่านมา

      To be honest I’m a little gun shy when I open main door and smoke starts rolling out. Had a few eye eyebrows disappear 😂.

    Wow on being short on GOOD boiler wood !!!
    You may need to keep an eye out for big standing dead trees and offer the owners a pretty good deal on clean up of them !!!!!!😊
    You have a Good Day

      Yeah being busy I kind of neglected my own wood. Thinking I would have processed more a few months ago. Just didn’t happen. To get more I have plenty of dead trees around. On the ground and still standing. Will get me to actually get into my own woods and do a little cleaning. Been meaning to do so for a long time now. Same to you and your family.

    Well my recommendation after being in the HVAC field for 24 years. I would leave you inside thermostat at the same temp unless you gone for weekend. It takes more work an money to get back up to temp as compared to leaving it alone all the time. Especially when it gets that cold. Love following along

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah I’ve thought about that for a while now. I would agree. Only concern with that we all like it cooler at night and especially my Alaskan malamute. Will have to have a discussion with wife over this.

      That doesn't make sense though? BTU wise you'd lose more out of your house if it's warmer.
      You're losing the BTUs regardless if you leave it at 71 or let it drop down to 64, then heat it back up.
      One will have you continuously put heat into the house, where one will slowly lose heat, and then put a lot of BTUs into the house all at once.

    That boiler is massive man, but you also have alot going on with it.
    We're planning on putting a building over ours next year, or at least by the following heating season, so I'll keep following along and see what you continue working on for the hood vent you've mocked up in front of yours. I'm definitely gonna have to figure something out for when I open my door.
    My buddy has a traditional boiler, and he too keeps his running super clean, not much smoke at all , he burns decent seasoned wood. It's all in how you want them to run i suppose.
    Keep it up, stay warm man 💪

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yep. The drier the wood the better. Longer burn times equal better cleaner burns. And yeah I definitely will be trying to finish my hood vent soon. It’s not the smoke that concerns me it’s all the small particles that you don’t see that will kill you if breathed in. I’m hoping in the next few days to work on it some more. And a building around the boiler is awesome. Protects the investment and keeps wood out of the elements once dried.

      She sure is. The kiln demands a lot of BTU’s. Once I turn that off in a month or so then it just sips wood then.

      Yeah. I may throw a bunch in there and run a day or too to take some moisture out and then use it. We will see what I come up with.

  • @davesauerzopf6980
    @davesauerzopf6980 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I was wondering why you do not have garage doors for the area that you have your kiln? Would that help with maintaining some heat? Keep that cold air out of the building?

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา

      What do you mean. Where the kiln is those doors are shut right now. They have been shut for months. I go in there and it’s pretty warm. I leave them open all summer because I’m in and out all day long most days. But winter time they are shut.

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh. I’ve thought about it. But not until I get the smoke from the boiler under control. Once I can clear about 80% or so then I may put sides up at least. Big barn sliders or something.

    • @Treestofirewood

      It does burn coal. I haven’t looked into coal or how much that would cost to buy. But if times get really tough I would figure it out that’s for sure.

    Go bid out some projects for standing dead trees at a deal

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา

      True. But I have plenty of wood on the property to cut down that’s dead or clean up the woods. But getting paid for wood is also nice.

    • @kennethrobinson5151
      @kennethrobinson5151 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Better not wait too long that dead wood on your property will be nearly impossible to process with a couple feet of snow on the ground

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  วันที่ผ่านมา

      That is true. But I will get it somehow. When we need wood I don’t care how cold it is I will get it out. Snow I can deal with. Unless it’s 3/4 ft deep. Haven’t had that in year but you know how that goes.
