  • The Fermi Paradox highlights the contradiction between the high likelihood of extraterrestrial civilizations existing in the vast, star-filled universe and the complete lack of evidence or observed contact with such civilizations. Named after physicist Enrico Fermi, who famously asked, "Where is everybody?" the paradox challenges scientists to explain why, amid billions of potentially habitable planets, we have yet to detect any signs of alien life.

It's not so much a paradox when you factor in the speed of light and a few other things. Yes, with 100s of billions of galaxies each containing 100s of billions of stars, there are certainly other space-fairing civilizations. The fact the Earth was not colonized long before mankind evolved strongly indicates none are close enough to do so regardless of their tech level. This indicates that the speed of light is insurmountable and other galaxies are unreachable.
