    This is so helpful! I am transferring to Rutgers NB and am still considering some things. You are right though, the questions you ask and care about as a HS senior change so much once you go into college.

    1. A good dining hall
    Me too. I know it’s shouldn’t be a priority, but common good food is good food

      Food definitely played a factor in my college choice. You get sick of dining hall food really quick in college, so it's important to have various options and good quality food

    I just got admitted into the Business School the other day and i'm excited to attend Rutgers in the fall! Just wondering, what is your current major in the business school? Do you know what majors have a good and bad reputation at the business school? am a transfer student and I am still not set on a major.

    Problem with TCNJ is that finding classes that work for your schedule is extremely hard for science students.

    They don't read the essay. I applied to Rutgers for fun after being accepted to TCNJ. I literally wrote a sentence saying Rutgers is a crap school and got accepted 3 days after submitting the application. funny thing is I ended up rejecting TCNJ for Rutgers since none of my friends got into TCNJ but we all got into Rutgers

    That was a great video! Btw I'm trying to apply as an international student and I'm currently working on my essay. Do you have any advice on what specific points to include in the essay?

    • @AaronBurt
      @AaronBurt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adrian Delgado thanks a lot and yeah definitely. I’m not sure what your prompt was for the essay this year but when I applied we had the common app and I made my essay about my experience lifeguarding in high school. It was comedy but also included examples of leadership. There isn’t something specific I can say you have to include, I’d just say be as authentic as you can and be creative with it so you stand out from others. Good luck!

      @@AaronBurtactually they give me a bunch of prompt options with one option being a topic of choice, which I chose to write. I wanna write anecdotes of my childhood and how a specific interest tied me into a career choice. I give examples of inspirations and people I look up to while also trying to be more personal with my redaction. Do you think this is a good approach?
      P.S. how formal or informal should the essay be?

    • @AaronBurt
      @AaronBurt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Adrian Delgado thats cool that they give you options like that. That sounds like a great approach. I think it’s completely up to you with how formal you want to be. As long as it’s all structurally and grammatically correct you should be fine. They want to see that you’re a real person and not just your GPA/SAT scores so as long if you show your personality that’s great

    hey, this video is great! I got into Rutgers NB, and I wanted to ask about rescinded offers. Does Rutgers rescind offers often?

    • @AaronBurt
      @AaronBurt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Avantika Raman Thanks! They do rescind offers occasionally but it’s not an extremely common occurrence. It usually only happens under pretty extreme circumstances- a bad grade or two probably won’t do it

    Got an interview for a graduate program this week, the only turn off is that it's at the Newark campus which seems like a rough neighborhood, your thoughts on the Newark campus?

    • @AaronBurt
      @AaronBurt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Christopher, I haven't spent too much time at Rutgers Newark but from what I know the campus and area directly around it isn't too bad. Newark is definitely a mixed bag with rough neighborhoods for sure but if you're near the University during the day it should be fine. Good luck with the interview

      Rutgers is fairly competitive but it all depends on your personal grades and test scores. There's some good resources online that show admissions stats for specific programs
