To classify sex work as empowering is surely the endpoint of modern feminism. Muddy the category of woman and then glorify prostitution with political narcissism. The thing is, what she says about the music industry is spot on, the bloated corporateness of it at the high end, the lack of working class voices in culture. But to politicise onlyfans as empowering protest is frankly absurd in my view, and if anything sullies the message. If this aspect of it gets taken seriously then society is just crumbling.
Consider how all commenters shame her for this, because sex work is in general seen as shameful. Is it not empowering to risk everyone's mean opinions to be yourself?
maybe you should mind your own business and stop worrying about trans people existing or how women making their own choices is supposedly leading to a "crumbling society." get a hobby or something. hiking, watercolouring... lots of fun and rewarding things to choose from.
@secretcircusofficial correct me if I am wrong, but your response could be justly summarised as 'People are being mean' and 'saying something controversial is empowering'. Pretty thin if you ask me. Kate can take responsibility for what she says. And has it ever occurred to you that the reason prostitution is 'seen' as shameful is because it is? Presenting selling pictures of your body as empowering or feminist is ridiculous, and is encouraging girls and women to devalue themselves. Would you say to a girl. 'One day you could grow up to be a sex worker?' No, because that is idiotic, and would make sexual assault far more likely. I don't want to attack anyone, but bad ideas being spread as good for women? You don't get to do that and act surprised when people respond. I help homeless women, and donate to a women's refuge every week, and this nonsense is unhelpful and foolish. Lots of people are done with solipsism and encouraging people to be their worst selves as empowering. If she wants to debase herself, that is her choice. But what kind of behaviour is that encouraging in the people who pay for this crap, who are also being terrible and sad? Many feminists would agree.
@@redblue2456 'a general consensus' isn't a valid point, and neither is the increased risk of sexual assualt - pulled that one out your bum as well. Answer me how it devalues them? They get a lot of money and a lot of blokes soil themsevles (but of course that's not shameful is it?). It is actually quite punk now I think about it, because it undermines the consensus. In case it isn't screamingly obvious, Nash on only fans isn't encouraging girls to go homeless and sell their bodies that is a stetch and a half.
@@redblue2456 unfortunately my replies are getting deleted. Suffice to say it is YOU devaluing them. SA and 'the general cosensus' hold zero weight when you think about it. She is being subversive of YOUR devaluation.
Thank you for calling attention to this. The fees associated with ticket purchases are astronomical and are not going to talent or workers. I miss the days when you could purchase at the box office for the direct cost of the show. I absolutely hate the terms and conditions we have to agree to just to purchase tickets and the amount of personal information that is expected!
What's wrong with selling your body? people sell their time and energy at jobs they hate then sneer at those who've avoided that. What's so noble about all your lives that you can judge her?
It’s called dignity and because of the long term effects and consequences of partaking in it. Don’t forget selling your body is also selling your time and emotional threshold it just so happens that she enjoys doing it.

But why is it so dark? How is it selling your soul? What's your reasoning? Or are you just echoing patriarchal fear of female agency
