The story is a Saturday Morning Cartoon. It takes inspiration from one of the most classical story elements in video gaming history - and does not apologize for it. They ran with it and were proud of using that very well-known formula to create a relatively decent adventure. Nothing complex - nothing deep - they clearly wanted to play safe with this one. There is potential room for commentary and philosophical debate over the state of video game design near the end with how advanced technology is getting, but that debate is also relatively shallow. It is VERY beginner friendly - Breaker games have been a Niche concept and they are finally wanting to try and draw in the widest audience possible with this one. I don't mind - as even the grinding has been lowered heavily. Everything is now more for cosmetics, there are fewer big skills you need to worry about min-maxing for, and you can feel powerful playing how you want to. Biggest Gripes: The lack of explanation on many of the skills - (Without doing research tell me what the Barrage: OP skill does simply by looking at it. Or Wild Dance? How about explaining what Parts Lost/Pick Up means? If two-handed weapons get a boost from Left/Right based skills as it still use both hands? Yeah, none of us knew without doing ANY research on how to answer those questions when first looking - even with past game knowledge and concepts to run off it.) Then there is the lack of any harder set of missions for when you get fully upgraded. New Type is challenging - at first. If you have been on hardcore difficulty from beginning to end or switched to Extreme when you could. Definitely a spike there. But once you get max upgrades, nothing is challenging. You can wipe through the whole game with your eyes closed on New Type just by getting past level 50. You practically have to handicap yourself to get a genuine hard challenge. And then finally - the worst gripe of them all. The one thing that made me the most upset about the game...A Personal Gripe! WHY IS MY BOY NEO-AMERICA MAXTER GUNDAM THE ONLY ONE OF THE SHUFFLE ALLIANCE NEGLECTED AND DENIED ENTRY! Bolt Gundam, Rose Gundam, Dragon Gundam, Burning/Shining Gundam, Rise Gundam, Noble Gundam, Master Gundam! FUNSAIKI! Dark Army! All of them are here! WHY NOT THE BOXING AMERICAN GUNDAM!? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!
No love for Neo Germany and Spiegel Gundam either. It was lucky enough to have a MG kit way back in the day. And yeah, the whole pro-AI message of the story had the nuance of a freight train. It works in a fictional setting, but will never catch on in real-life with how divisive the topic has become since the Coronavirus pandemic.
The only problem with GB4 is the maps are too small when my build hits 17000 boost speed and I yeet across the whole map in one boost like VRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
@@MechaBorne there should at be a visible mini map to see the edges. Esspecially with the big bosses there’s been several times I fly back trying to avoid an attack only to be stopped by an invisible wall an get hit.

The story is just kinda there till near the end, but i really enjoyed this game. It was allot of fun, especially with coop. Admittedly i also hated tao. But i loved the rest of the characters. The coop modes in this game really make it for me though, if you jave 2 freinds its an absolute blast seeing what everyone makes and how goofy it can be XD!
I think we can all agree on one thing: It’s better than New Gundam Breaker. One thing that baffles me about Tao. If you go up to characters in the lobby, there is a button prompt to see their profile which can tell you what parts they use, builder rank, and favorite Gundam series. How does Tao have the title for clearing survival mode? By the end of the game his builder rank is at 10 while I’m like 42. EXPLAIN! Because I do not believe he cleared survival mode even with help offscreen between story missions at that low of a level.
Yeah maybe 50$. But I expect this game to be much like Xenoverse 2 where it will get constant free updates and some paid story dlc. The story I did not care for. I just kept telling myself it was a long tutorial lol. That’s kinda how it felt anyway. They even call it a beta test so..
Not likely, given how GB3 ended up. Probably just a few DLC expansion drops that add a few missions each with new mobile suits for us to farm, some minor story content, and then that'll be that.

Yeah I strongly disagree. I don't give a crap about the repitition. The gameplay is a LOT of fun and I had a blast with that and the story. This game IS worth the money IMO.
For the case of the game, my only problem is that it is now in a wave by wave format, despite it can be made into a separate mode. Characters? They are fine, even Tao as well. He is basically your regular Gundam Pro nerd who is also a good friend. Although, the story is a bit on the lower side of things. I think my only other complain would be the OP attacks. For some reason, it is not as great as in GB3 where I can spam the beam blade from my backup while also using my spear as my main. Also, Never forgive Bandai for Gundam Evo. Should have stayed. Could be great as a competitor to Overwatch with its IP.
Tao is a whiney on-boarding character that's a tutorial incarnate but honestly none of the characters are that substantial and worse they kinda just circle around you for the most part you will very quickly not be the main character of the story, relegated for to main muscle status

I get comparing everything to generative AI is so hot right now, but man. That opening narrated script really sounds like it came out of chatGPT or something. The weird tense usage/report sounding writing doesn’t sound like an intro to a game but rather an article.
Honestly my reaction to Tao, he's so annoying that even the game acknowledges him as annoying. He's insecure in a way that makes his win feel unearned, it's not helped in either of the dubs, that goes for most of the story mode. None of the characters are explored in a way that really matters. Having 500+ Gunpla to mess around with is so fun though, spend over 20 hours in build mode alone making monstrosities.
Man, Tao is so annoying. Actually, scratch that -- all the NPC characters are. I was actively searching for ways to get them from my party, but in the end just settled with turning the VFX all the way down. I mostly grind it while listening to a podcast and that's solid. It's a great "mindless" kinda game.

Welp, theres a whole stage where you have to fight SD'S and on top of that, a gigantic one (Ironic I know). But hey, later on in the game, you should be able to start getting these parts that giveajor boosts to specific specs of your gunpla. GB4 has been great for me and im looking forward to the DLC that'll come out🎉🎉

I'm more disappointed the Tristan and GM Sniper II were not included. The Tristan I can sort of make with parts from different suits. The Sniper on the other hand is a little more tricky. It's also a little weird that you only use one hand to shoot the sniper in this game.

I mean, the Geara Doga is fine and all, but a bit too much on the chunky side for my taste. The Zulu's design is perfection. Rank-and-file mobile suits just don't seem to get enough love, unfortunately. And some other omissions struck me as strange, such as the Messala, Gabthley, Asshimar, Methuss or R-Jarja, all of which I'm very certain had HGUC kits made. We got a Bawoo at least, but its not Glemy's one; its the Sleeves design for some reason. No Zaku I but we got the Zudah and a mobile construction worker. I wanted a Brave or an Overflag; we got two GNX units instead.
Overall the only characters I've only enjoyed is: Lin/Lilin, Shenna. They are like the only ones I personally enjoy. For the others Mashima is repetitive and literally sounds like he's saying the same diaolouge every time, and for Tao, he's just a stereotypical nerd, overcoming his bullies, nothing special about that.
Is there a way for me to change the spoken dialogue to Japanese? I don't wanna go through the whole game with English voice acting... I could handle NGB with the crappy lockon so I think the best thing they can do is let us use Japanese audio with English text.
Funny video. I also don't care for SD Gundam models (but my disdain is nowhere near your levels). Just from looking i don't think the game is worth 60 bucks, however just for the opportunity to make my own original mobile suit i think ill just suck it up and buy the game anyway.
Thanks! The price for the game can definitely be an issue for some. At the same time I do admit that it might be hard to argue against the price if someone spends a hundred hours having fun customizing their mobile suits. The multiplayer can also be quite enjoyable. So that being said, there's a lot worse things someone can spend $60 on.

The best part of the plot is Chaos, and I 100% agree with him. I now have every part maxed out in HG, SD, and MG.

Funny video. I also don't care for SD Gundam models (but my disdain is nowhere near your levels). Just from looking i don't think the game is worth 60 bucks, however just for the opportunity to make my own original mobile suit i think ill just suck it up and buy the game anyway.
Thanks! The price for the game can definitely be an issue for some. At the same time I do admit that it might be hard to argue against the price if someone spends a hundred hours having fun customizing their mobile suits. The multiplayer can also be quite enjoyable. So that being said, there's a lot worse things someone can spend $60 on.
The game is ass but customizing your gundams is fun.

@@heroicdairy yes. Have the tutorial be not as game interrupting as it is here and also maybe add more dialogue choices that drastically change the endgame.
