- Knitting isn’t merely a pastime for Swiss psychiatrist Dominique Kaehler Schweizer. It’s a means of creative expression. Dr. Kaehler knits everything from animals to meat to baked goods to body parts-even anatomically correct hearts. And her clever, intricate work is on display in museums. The knitting psychiatrist, known as Madame Tricot in the art world, shows us how her passions for healing and knitting are interwoven.

For some people it is knitting and for others, it might be fishing, etc. It is important to have hobby and interest in something in order to keep your head clean
She’s probably one of the best surgical stitchers out there

Hello, new Justin Y.
With a beautiful flower on the end.
When I was in a "girls home" a foster grandmother taught me to crochet. I never forgot and I still use the skill. Thank God for kind and generous people. I turned out productive and good.
Hey Earth ‘n, the name of the “crochet” tool means “fang” in French.
I used to knit in my lunch time, my mum always thought it kept me calm. I find great satisfaction completing anything handmade, crochet, knitting, embroidery or sewing.
My gawd... her stash! I am so envious!
Me too!🌞
My mom would buy sweaters from second hand shops, and repurpose the wool. Epic knitter. Now I know why she was so calm.
I now understand how my mother survived my father. Thanks
. . . Im a psychology student and I love crochet... Watching this is like watching me in the future 🥰😍😍😍😍😍😍
🙂🙂🙂 She knits though. Harder to produce her pieces with knitting than with crochet
"...Makes me happy..." That is the simple, but hard to attain truth of living.
" The answer is because this makes me happy. "
I wish I will be as wise as this lady as I age.
Now that’s what you call mastery 🙌🏾
I LOVE THIS AND I LOVE HER
Imagine you get stabbed while outside and this lady deadass pulls out a needle and yarn and just says "no problem"
I believe you are my soul mate! During the CoVid Lockdown here in America, I started knitting my CoVid Corps: Women whose lives have been directly affected by the Pandemic!. They include medical works; mothers; teachers; hotel housekeepers; career women; Postal workers; Hotel Housekeepers; Musicians....the list goes on. It was SO much fun!
Oh my God she's my perfect psychiatrist WHY DOES SHE LIVE FAR AWAY DAMMIT
Wow I love crocheting and I'm getting therapy for my ptsd right now. Crocheting makes me happy. I love to create cuddly things.

It has ! However this type of therapy , arts and crafts has actually been used for quite some time .
and I think its wonderful
Absolutely beautiful
It's just "knitting" for some. But it is also expressing their creativity for many.
Very talented Frau Dr.
Beautiful work congratulations
It's very cathartic, & I do it for the same reasons.
My nana taught me how to knit as a child and as I've gotten older I really see the benefits of it. I've got something to do with my hands so that keeps me stimulated and focused proventing me from fidgeting or god forgbid hurting myself like I used to and when I'm done I get clothes and stuffed toys out of it. I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone who can hold a pair of kneeles
I love to crochet, even though she knits, she is still super inspiring!
She’s amazing!
She is an amazing artist. And she speaks beautiful French.
Wow! This is amazing knitting!!!!!
Lovley story.
super!!
Nice
That’s impressive
CONTINENTAL KNITTING! YES! It's so much easier but everyone does the overcomplicated version..
I'm mostly a self-taught knitter...came from crochet and could NOT knit the other way. When I found Continental, it was a true ljghtbulb moment.💟
Rhonda Huggins I’m a self taught crochet-knitter and I was taught knitting the other way in a school club. When I showed it to my mom she said it was too complicated and showed me what she called “the normal way”. I understand what you mean- continental is so easy and flows making knitting a much faster process which is something I was used to from how quickly crochet goes.
Im self taught. Im gonna check out continental knitting on youtube now. If i like it i will switch too it
Great work 🥳 Thank you 💜
Fabulous!
Me realizing I absolutely do this. 😳
