I am super late to the party but I would also like to thank you for the tutorial. Your thoughts are well organized and that really helps your explanation to be precise and helpful.
Hey, as usual really nice tutorial, easy to follow to understand the core mechanics. I am currently playing ATO, and I am travelling in a few weeks to the US, so I was kind wanting to get some other campaign game so I can play once I finish the 3 cycles, while I wait for 4/5 to arrive next year (already done with Cycle 1). ATO was my first campaign game and I really liked it, and honestly made me move towards this sort of games rather than the Games Workshop universe I was kind into. I take a loot at two of Awaken Realms games, which is this one, and ISS Vanguard. Which one of the 2 you would recommend if you had to pick one?? Thanks!
Now that’s a great question. I’ve never played Vanguard and clearly I love Tainted Grail. I suspect that whenever I finally played Vanguard it will be a Top 10 game for me but I just can’t say for sure. My gut tells me you should go with Vanguard but I also know for sure that Tainted Grail is fantastic.
Without a doubt the single most confusing part of setting up a new campaign in my opinion. Distinguishing which cards are Starting, Basic, and Advanced could have been handled so much better. I go through it in detail in this video starting at 02:58. These days when I start a new campaign I actually refer back to this video to figure it out again. Hope that helps!
