  • In this video we demonstrate the proper procedure for cleaning your Cooper&Hunter indoor wall mount. The evaporator featured in this video is from our Sophia Series, but the technique remains the same for other C&H series.
    Cooper&Hunter Wall Mounts are simple to maintain as the air filters can be easily removed and washed for regular upkeep. Depending on how often the unit is used, this more in-depth cleaning procedure should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician (as it does require contact with electrical components, which could be dangerous if not handled appropriately) approximately once a year. If you use your air conditioner mainly for cooling, for example, we recommend having it cleaned before each summer season.
    You’ll need:
    A long Phillip’s head screwdriver
    3 zip ties
    A scrubbing brush
    Paper Towels
    Plastic cleaning spray
    Coil cleaner
    A multimeter
    A ladder (Depending on the location of the unit)
    And a source of running water
    The Cooper&Hunter Ductless Sophia Series Mini Split system utilizes inverter technology and offers a variety of features including Wifi control options, Anti-Corrosive GoldFin coating, Sleep mode, Timer, Refrigerant Leakage Detection, and a Self-Diagnosis Function.
    Cooper&Hunter is a global manufacturer of HVAC equipment with a wide product line, ranging from Mini-Splits, TTWs, PTACs, and Portables, distributed in 50 countries worldwide. The “C&H” brand is well on its way to becoming a household name, as the mark itself has come to represent quality and innovation matched with sleek design and great prices.

    Thank you for posting this. The instructions were spot on for my Sophia 9K BTU wall unit. Can you do a similar video for the Sophia floor console? We have a 12K BTU if that makes a difference.

      Hi Bill! Thanks for the feedback, and that's a great idea! We'll get to work on one soon but, in the meantime, you might find this video to be helpful: th-cam.com/video/1kn2z3Qrgu8/w-d-xo.html Bob installed a 12K mini floor console in his home, too.

    Have a sophia single, 24-sph. How do I remove fan, cover off, bearing off end, can’t find any motor shaft, screw anything. No gap in fan for screwdriver.

    not a deep enough cleaning of the indoor coil. You have missed a lot of potential dirt and slime. You will know what I mean if you use a power sprayer made for cleaning mini spilt indoor coils. You will need a professional bib kit to keep everything dry around the indoor coil.

    I can’t figure out where the screw is that holds the fan blower in place. Any insight?

      The video shows you that on the right side of the wheel there's a gap in the fan blades, which give you access to a screw. Don't pull it out, just loosen it.

      @@biglakecreekproductions8440 mine doesn’t have that screw. I looked all over up and down. There just isn’t a screw anywhere. I am not sure if they sell a similar unit with a non removable blower fan but I ended up having to deep clean it with the blower in the unit. It’s in need again and I’d love to pull it out for ease of cleaning but that damn screw is nonexistent

    Thanks for posting this. This will be helpful. I am having issues getting mine to heat properly. It is about 8 degress off where the setting is and never seems to catch up. Temps are only in the 20's I have it on 71 deg and it is only 63 degrees in the room. Any ideas on that? My setup was installed this summer and has been great until now.

    We have the Sophia Model with the 18 and 12 btu heads. This is not in line with the 18 btu head. How the HELL do we get the weaver out of this unit to clean it?

    What brand/model condensate pump was installed with the unit?

    • @CooperandHunterusa
      @CooperandHunterusa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't use one for this installation. Since the lines were directed downwards, gravity will work.

    How often do you need to clean this?

    • @CooperandHunterusa
      @CooperandHunterusa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It depends on many factors, for example how frequently the A/C is used, what type of environment it's in, if there are pets or pollen in the space, etc. General rule of thumb would be at least once or twice per year, though.

      Did you remove and clean the blower wheel? That made mine move much more air. It doesn't take much lint/dust on the wheel to reduce air flow.
