the spaces you left between buildings would be perfect spots for pedestrian paths. I look forward to seeing how you do public transport there-might I suggest if you are doing a 1 way ring road, you use road builder to make busses bi directional?
You can also use road builder to make station platforms that work for, trams, busses, trains, metro. but you need the "Extra Networks and Areas" mod so you can put special "integrated" stops on the platform
