Another wonderful ep. the way the father character delivered the line @16:10 " You MUST EAT" has been stuck in my head for 20 years lol. Its a running gag in my house.
In stark contrast of that infamous Matrix scene, the worm was meant to provide tactical advantage of sort; John didn't know he will face Peacekeepers, villains in said episode, who enslaved the populace via. mind-altering effects of Tannot Root inside their food. Using that worm, one can safely consume the root without getting brainwashed. Shame they couldn't ask his consent because he didn't know what stored for him there.
@@bsoulstone6024 Exactly. As shocking as it was, they were really trying to help him. He would have ended up like D´Argo and Zhaan. It´s a big quality of this show that things often turn out to be the opposite of what they seem first. Like D´Argo running to John in the bar and we think: John´s toast! And then D´Argo´s just so happy to see him. And then John´s almost hugged to death ...
@@hundetuem the more I think about his situation, the more I reminded to babel fish in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It can translate other beings' languages into the language you fluent most, though you must put it into your ear canal in order for such quirk to work.
@@bsoulstone6024 Yes, the fish in your ear is a good analogy. Sometimes it´s a bit unclear how Farscappe´s translator microbes work and why, but at least it´s a better explanation than the "The aliens all speak English" in Stargate.
Rygel's species has the weirdest biology. He farts helium and under the right circumstances he pees fire, it litterally wouldn't surprise me if he crapped gold at any point.
"BRING HIM TO MEEEE!!" 😅 Dunno why, but this always stuck with me, always used to say variants of this line thanks to this episode! I always wondered why Dargo was so mad at Crichton in the first place, other than "just being another male". Lol
The first interesting episode. The resolution seemed pretty weak though: the majority of the population is addicted and brainwashed. Even assuming that they needed the stuff for their own weapons, and that the people generally followed their leader, actually breaking the addiction and nurturing the will to actually fight and rekindle their old form of civilization seems quite an uphill battle, even with the existing resistance.

Thank you for uploading my all-time-favourite show! The scene with the worm-into-the-stomach is wayyyyy more convincing than the one in the Matrix!

Doctor: What seems to be the trouble, your highness?
Dominar Rygel XVI: It burns when I pee! 40:53
I love Rygel!!
Thank you, I thought i had seen them all, but clearly not!
Such a great series.
The musical theme that starts at 14:27 i've loved for so long. Mr Gross is a great composer
In the first season, the music is by Subvision. They were good, too.
14:47 the music here sounds like part of the GLA soundtrack for Command & Conquer: Generals ?!

Not gold, but a kind of crystal jewel!
@@hundetuem Like American Dad! Love it 😆

Gotta watch the previous episode
I like Farscape, have a sub 😊
Thank you
It just started 😂
Zaahn really was a better match for Dargo than Chiana. Also this episode had fantastic music.
Love how they can just drop down to any planet and walk into a nightclub carrying an automatic rifle.
Wish we could be that free

The livestreams are gone 😥
This blue skin race galactic neighbor looks like similar to Arcturian or Sirian.
