The refresh rate of your monitor is a lot more important than the resolution of your monitor if your main focus is gaming. The main reasons for this are the better response times and higher fluidity of the images displayed on your monitor that will actively allow you to showcase your skill in a more natural fashion.
That is of extremely important in games like FPS because a higher refresh rate translates to better aim to a certain degree (the increase in Hz is not proportional to the percentage of the aim improvement

I will say gear doesn't matter, but having bad gear that doesn't work as well can definitely affect your game play like a broken mouse or something like that.

I was the 3rd one, I didn’t know having elevated mouse was so bad, but only reason I have it that way is bc my desk isn’t wide enough to fit the keyboard on there too. And to those asking - yes that’s a mixer and studio mic I make music! Maybe if I put my keyboard at the same level as mouse I can finally get immortal

Gear does matter. No matter what you say. I went from terrible mnk with a 60hz monitor to expensive stuff with a 144hz monitor and my Val skill improved from silver to diamond
True you can improve tremendously with better gear, but some people can get very far without good gear, and even further with a gear upgrade
Good gear doesn't mean better player instantly but potentially it makes you skyrocket to be a better player
you could guess b2 for every setup and get at least 10 right which is better than all your
attempts before

gaming gear actually does matter i have a friend in 6th grade and we were both hardstuck silver. we both had 30 fps laptop and would lag every second he told me once he gets a new pc hes gonna be radiant and i took it was a joke. Little did i know a few weeks after he got his laptop he went from silver to immortal in 1 act. I don't know how he did it and i said luck. I went over to his house and he let me play his computer all night and i went from bronze to gold in the matter of around 10 games. I went to his house again for the whole summer and now im giamond 1
The gear doesn't matter but it definetly is somewhat needed it make playing doable, my laptop for whatever reason just can't take it in the first few rounds and my just left stuttering for a while. But even on laptop I was able to peak at silver despite my technical limitations

I feel like you CAN get high rank with just 60 fps/hz, any lower than that is hell, and even at 60fps and hz its going to be so much harder
@@LanceWillMakeIt well yeah because rank isn't = to mechanical ability. FPS/Latency has no real direct influence on strategy and non mechanical actions. Achieving a high rank makes nothing since 99.99% of the population could achieve that rank given enough time. The only thing that separates people is raw mechanical ability and the highest level of strategy. That's why chess is so hard at the highest level.

I have the same setups as those who play on laptop, my parents don't want me to get very big setups just for a game but my laptop can handle it and I am still iron 3, I am on my way to bronze and soon radiant to show that you don't need a good computer to be in a high rank

"Esthetical" setups, in the sense of what gamers think looks good = diamond+
Has other hobbies setups = iron-bronze
It only depends if your pc or laptop cannot perform Valorant that well

a laptop has to be elevated so you get better cooling and airstream arround your hardware, otherwise it will overheat and throttle. thats why everyone ist using something wiedr to elevate it
2:10 good quality glass is really sturdy, so unless you actually make an effort to try and break it you'll be fine. Just make sure you don't have any anger management issues lol

I got to immortal with an average of 70 ping and a 300 dollar pc setup that is in a kitchen that is not even mine.
And I see people complain on discord about their 50 dollar mouse, Sadge.

Nah but, saying setup doesn't matter is such a cap. I have a 60hz monitor, and a game that runs at 80fps max, with constant feeling of shit skipping, often ping spikes, or packet losses. And now days, i often to go an internet caffe, that has an 18ping, 240hz monitor, bit big but still better then mine. No lag, nothing, with my g pro superlight, shits so clean, when you're losing it doesn't hurt as much, because then truly is your fault, and so on. 💀
Gear does matter, I used to play on a laptop with 10 - 20 fps and I bottom dragged all the time. The instant I swap to PC, I start top fragging EVERY game
gear really doesn’t matter as long as your gear is responsive and you have high 60-100 fps surely you’ll be still good at the game
it does though, like yeah having a $2000 pc isnt going to get you to immortal alone but i bet you if you give you a $2000 pc with good gear and like a 144/240 hz monitor to someone who's like gold and plays on his dell laptop with 60 fps, he's defo gonna do better

My 2 cents *before watching*: Gear does partially matter. It's possible to play well on bad equipment, but better equipment makes it a lot easier.
You can play reach Diamond with 30 FPS.. or Iron/Bronze with capped 200 like me.
I'd actually say it's the other way around. Gear caps your plays. Better equipment just allows you to fully use your abilities with nothing holding you back.
I'd be very surprised to know someone with 30 fps makes it diamond tbf. Especially if it's not stable.

imo u have to feel your gear if u want to be good. u adjust it by yourself. based on my experience, u can’t get good or get high rank if u play in small desk with laptop, wired mouse, and external keyboard. laptop’s internal keyboard and mouse wire are really annoying bcs it makes your mouse control and tracking sucks

If I get at least good fps and ping but garbage setup, u can still get to as high rank as people with like 10k dollar setup
I play on a laptop on 30 fps and 1080p and I'm ranked Plat 2 rn, it's a lot more about mechanics than the PC itself. The FPS is a huge limiter for me though, my reaction time can only get so fast

How can you even aim on 30fps? Anytime I dip below 60fps I get extreme latency for my mouse inputs and it's feels like an extra 300+ ping. I'm playing on a school laptop worth about 200aud and able to barely achieve 60fps by dropping the resolution scale to 40 and playing 1280x720. I literally cannot see heads past 15m. I'm Bronze 2
It's honestly just more about not peeking dumb stuff, I'm 9/10 gonna lose an engage if I try to barely peek or if I peek long range. Just swing quickly or be a rat in the corner lol

As long as your pc can run on decent fps consistently then your probably fine for any rank
