Her charisma is something else. She's so beautiful, but it's not just that, I love her voice and how she moves and what she says. She's one of these people where you feel you MUST know more about them, because they are genuinely interesting. And I think that makes her such a good actress too (apart from a ton of talent). Because you become genuinely interested and invested in her characters.

Anya Taylor-Joy sat two seats away from me at a recent Sigur Ros concert down here in Australia. I was too nervous to strike up a conversation during the intermission, but she was getting swept up in the emotion and thrill of the music. It was great to see!

That people try to play chess against her is really weird because until watching this, I never assumed that the actors on Queen's Gambit even needed to know the game beyond "the bare minimum needed to follow the scripts"
There's a little more to acting at that level than just following a script though. Simple example, a lot of actors commonly selected for action movie roles actually do master, in some instances, multiple styles of fighting. Master, not just have followed a few courses, they master it. Tom Cruise is actually legally a pilot. Steven Seagall actually holds a 7th Dan and is a Shihan in aikido Aikikai, has black belts in Karate, Judo, Kendo. So on and so forth.

The thing is that "perfect" is often really quite boring. The most intriguingly beautiful women always have something that is just a "bit off" in a way that keeps drawing your eye back to them. She is stunningly beautiful but in a way thats "not quite right". It works for her, A lot.

This is so funny to me because I became OBSESSED with her after Emma and that was pre lockdown in like February March of 2020? It was the last movie I saw before everything shut down.

It's so good to see Graham Norton lifting the social distancing aspect in the show. The guests are now sitting much closer, just like they used to before the global pandemic. This creates a rapport with the general population. It makes celebrities much more relatable to ordinary people.
The camera loves her in every movie. No one is that riveting. She should have won the emmy for Queen's Gambit over kate Winslet to be honest. And hopefully oscars should come her way sooner rather than later.
You know she's actually interesting because I (and Bruce and Mo) actually paid attention to the things she was saying and not just her eyecatching outfit, it's nice to be able to multitask!

@@AsylumSaint Yes I know. She's half Argentinian because her father is Argentinian. She born in Miami but grew up in Buenos Aires. Her native language is Spanish and she learned to speak English at the age of 9 when her parents decided to move to London. She says that at first she did not want to learn English as an act of rebellion against her parents because she wanted to return to Argentina, but fate has her here. She speaks perfect Argentinean Spanish and British-American English.

It's so good to see Graham Norton lifting the social distancing aspect in the show. The guests are now sitting much closer, just like they used to before the global pandemic. This creates a rapport with the general population. It makes celebrities much more relatable to ordinary people.
