I was playing long time ago and then came back after f2p release. I thought there was some changes done to quick parry since it became so fluid since when i was playing. Thx for confirming this so I can stop strugling to switch to composite and just turn this off
awesome video! I wasnt ever even sure which one was better to use, i thought i had built up a "bad habit" of using quick parry because i bound it to my mmo mouse. clicking one button with my thumb much easier than composite. Good to see it does the job just fine!!

0:21 you can scissor parry. Then both will be equal. It's where you let go of the button you're holding and click with the opposite one. This only works before the 1st `ding`. The quick parry there is actually performing the scissor parry for you. I'd still recommend quick parry though cuz it's just easier. The only time when quick parry is slower is when parrying out of sprint. Also after the first ding, quick parry during focus will automate to a crouch parry. Sometimes jump parry is preferred because it can snap you towards the enemy focus while parrying. That's one other remaining use of composite parry.
You can just jump and quick parry to do the exact same jump parry as with composite though. There's literally no downside to it anymore. Just wish i could get used to quick parry instead of composite, but after using it for 1 1/2 years it's pretty doomed

theres one big difference, i use quick parry and ive noticed sometimes attack animation of enemy comes faster than my parry despite me clicking on parry before they release. its especially noticable when you encounter staff users, they can really just spam blue focus horizontal one after another and you cannot parry that for instance, thats where composite is better

There is no reason to use composite if you learn the game. But most of veterans like me struggle or just don't want to learn quick parry because we are so used to not have this option

@@ChefOfTheDeadmy is 100 same thing, but i checked some videos of asura gameplay when dudes doing parry with 100 ping and all fine. whats difference? im noob? i have 2-3 yrs of Gunz TD experience and ~100 hrs on naraka rn
Naraka parries are sorta inconsistent sometimes bc it depends on your ping and enemy ping. It also doesn't activate parry frames instantly, so sometimes even though you input parry it'll already be too late (not sure if this info is up to date)@@DeadShinobu
may be i didnt get ur point on 01:00 but even on ur example in the end composite parried faster/ red spark means nothing, i always see it with 1button parry, but immidiatly eating focus
Yeah i though soo i tooo i was watching some tips and tricks and it always like dont use quick counter but i tried it in Training Mode To see difference no difference at all
its because in the past quick parry was bad, they changed it to how it is now, previously there was a big delay.

In boxing you have the "bob and weave" but it's really a distinction without a difference. Sometimes you bob when you should have weaved. I prefer the composite parry 90% of the time.
its really looking like i need to use quick counter now, kind of a vet and quick counter was useless but im having a hardtime interrupting my counters with crouch or jump. it use to be so reliable

Facts since day 1 its been known quick parry is better..."composite parry" exists to be like the resistance from switching from vertical to horizontal combos (vice versa)
So like, how do I know which parry is which on console? I just started playing on ps5.
You can check in your controller bindings menu. Composite is done by pressing R1 and R2 together, quick parry is done by a tap of L1

Which button is best for quick parry?
I’d suggest a mouse button. In my case I use a razer tartarus, not a normal keyboard, so I do have it on a key though

I started messing up way too much with composite when I try to play faster.
I didn't know you could turn composite parry off. That has messed me up so many times.
i have never successfully parried anyone, i just can't see what they are doing...what should i do?
For now, just try to parry every 1.0 focus attack. (Basically just parry when you see someone charging blue)
Think about charging an attack from 0 to 2.0, with 1.0 being the first point you can release a focus attack, and 2.0 being the last. Anything before 1.0 is a light attack or a half charged attack. Just try prediction parrying for now, so when you see the blue glow of someone charging, try to parry that 1.0 release. Then you can see what works and adjust from there
Also we can totally just hop in a match and do a few minutes of practice together if you want. You’d get it in no time

@@ChefOfTheDead of course... I started playing yesterday... and I loved the game... it's as if darksouls sekiro and fornite had had a child... BUT... parry's mechanic when it disarms you ruins the game because At an intermediate level everyone uses parry and they don't fight... when you disarm an opponent you end the fight and start a chase... and if all they do is use parry they aren't fighting... it's not fun beating an unarmed rival is like fighting with the training bot... fortnite had to make a "NO CONSTRUCTION" category because many people found it to be an annoying mechanic for combat... and what I'm saying is that the The fact that the parry takes your weapon in naraka is something that ends the fight and the players don't fight... they just parry
I learned to parry like everyone else and winning that way is not fun for me because I'm not fighting... no big combos... no battle strategies... no combat style... just parry
Ok this is very off base. You do realize when you’re parried that you automatically get another weapon from your inventory equipped? It’s very rare to only have one weapon on you. Secondly, you’re missing a fundamental part of naraka, because parried are extremely easy to punish. If all someone does is parry, all you have to do is cancel your focus attack with a dodge, and light attack instead. Only focus attacks are parryable.

I confront real artist of the parry and take away my 3 weapons and I learn to do parry and its easy if you dominate the mechanic just do that and nothing else... my point is not aganist the parry its aganist the take away your weapons... this is not a fight... no win the better fighter win the better doing parry... if the parry dont take away your weapons the fights are multiplicated for 10... think about it... just imagine... the game can have the same popularity of fortnite maybe more... thats because Im saying the parry ruins the game
@@NanoVelmont I see what you’re getting at, but it’s incorrect. You’ve only been playing the game for a single day so I understand your confusion. Losing your weapon on parry is a non-issue. You can carry 3-6 weapons which is way more than enough. Fights would not last any longer, since 3 parry punishes is typically enough to kill anyways. And if parrying is so easy for everyone, aren’t they just stealing weapons back from each other and never running out? Anyways, in the past YEAR of playing, I have been parried and weaponless maybe ONCE.
