Old sledder tips: when riding alone these 2 methods can get you unstuck - with 2 ropes ,1 come along hand winch , 1 man could get that sled unstuck --- or option #2 all that is needed is 1 rope tied to a track window and to a tree , and you let the sled ride up the rope -- once unstuck flip over sled and untangle the rope that is wrapped around the track
been a hardcore trail demon for years but there is nothing more intriguing to me than using these machines in 15 feet of snow lmao whole different world and i cant wait to experience it. best pow i ever experienced on the east coast was 3 feet and no base there is absolutely no comparison to this!
I’ve had a couple creek bottom stucks but the worst I have seen is a buddy’s son flipped his sled upside down on top of himself in 2 feet of water at the bottom. Near death experience for him but his dad jumped right in there to pull him out. Had to do what you guys did and dig a long ramp out. You aren’t having fun if you aren’t getting stuck and breaking stuff.
The worst one I ever saw was a older Ski-Doo grand touring that was left overnight on the lake in knee deep slush. The next day it was frozen solid past the floorboards in a solid chunk of ice. It took them all day to get it chipped out and towed off the lake.
Long as you can afford $26 a day for trail access. What has happened to Canada? You people should really get rid of Trudeau. The entire world is watching your gov't in horror of what they might do next to their citizens. Shameful
love the content. iv been watching you for a while i found your channel when my snowmobile broke down so if i cant ride i have to enjoy the snow somehow lol.... Greetings from norway
Crazy snow fella's. First seeing your mate and ski stuck in creek i thought airlift would be happening. Nice recovery job, made it look easy but we don't have freezing conditions while watching. Avagud1 keep rippin
My brother and I were Skidooing on Mt. Baker in Washington St years ago and ran into a party of shedders who told us about losing one of their friends down a glacier. Pretty sad.
I thought the 146 vanished haven't seen it in awhile! Surprised how well it handled for how deep the snow is rn definitely helps make my choice on the 146 turbo gen 5 a bit more brighter for next year, but now on the fence about the 165 turbo as my last trip out didn't go so well but then again who am I to say about it its all fun no matter how many times u get stuck it's part of having fun and enjoying the days on the mountain! Hope to get out with ya again soon!
It would pay off for one in your group to carry a 9 mm climbing rope and a climbing pulley or two to use as snatch blocks. Then you can rig to a sled or to pull downhill.
God damn, wish we still got snow like this where my fam and friends used to ride. Hardly ever get enough to take the snowmobiles out anymore, so sold them off last year.
I54/155 looks like the absolute minimum to ride any deep snow without being a constant battle! Are there some 46 tracks that can gain more float and momentum than others?
Noticed you switch radios? Seems like last year you used one on your backpack strap. This year you are pulling the big one out more. Looking forward to seeing a gear setup video later this season..?
the 146 seems to float more than the 9R with almost 10 inch more lenght, maybe its more job but you made a U-turn in 3 sq ft, thats the ultimate perk. im thinking about shorting my turbo freeride and you just proove me i can do it, dont care about how tired i get, better exercise to perform better. hope they'll launch a 3 inch 146 before my 154 life's end
It seems like the 146 doesn’t work as hard to climb as well or better than the 9R and the 146 actually has some track speed I realize it’s shorter so naturally will have more treck speed but the 9R seems lazy, a comparable length 850 I bet still has way higher track speed I feel Polaris need to go back to drawing bored with a few details .
Wow the short got me here I'm extremely impressed you all got that sled out where I'm at people ride mountain sleds like it makes up for weiner. Extremely impressed seeing the sleds proform and yes it's been time just rasing family and work to enjoy sleds but I do have a working 70s kitty cat for the kids gifted by my my best man. And I'm still riding a 97 zrt. Now that sleds are 25K I'm not up grading I still love my sled rides fine with upgrades. But you guys need it holey crap have fun.
Everytime I watch you guys ride in 6 ft of powder, I feel like slapping my Apex with a 121", I got stuck in 18 inches yesterday 20 ft from my front door.
you need to send it with a lot of slack on the slingshot to make it work but a sled is not very sturdy for this kind of stunt, you'll end up with no bumper and teared tunnel
I'm not sure you would be able to ride a 2023 sp 850 146 in a 2.5 track. That's what I have and have yet to take it to the mountains but BRP put a speed limiter on it at 75mph!! I guess your 78 is in kph but either way. 75 mph track speed the sled shuts down and give a speed waring on the dash!! My 2020 and 21, and 22 didn't do that. Kind of disappointed but I basicly ditch bang in norther MN so 75 is fast enough for me anyway.
The freeride and pro are completely different chassis that ride different. The pro tends to keep the skis down and push forward. Freeride tends to be a wheelie monster.
This video needs to be seen by absolutely everyone, what a nightmare, so important to keep your calm.

Dude, Dillin deserves this years trophy for stucks! You should start a once a year "Freerider Trophy" for best stuck of the year!
Lol 🤣👍👍
Shows that what can start as an impossible enterprise, can be solved with not much drama if efforts are put in the right place :)
I like the riding, but honestly I LOVE the stucks and breakdowns. They suck for you, but I like watching and learning from the bush fixes.
Can’t believe the 146 is still alive
Must be an Arctic Cat in disguise....you know, that 9 lives stuff and all....
@@vtrally03 Here we go...
Old reliable
i hope he change it for 146freeride turbo, the older 146 sled can still give a good payout.

Can't wait to see you ride that 165 turbo tomorrow.

just had a buddy i know lose his son to a avalanche that flipped his snowmobile ontop of him into a creek

UGH Mid July and still loving these videos! I can't wait for the cold!!!!!!!

A snow would have been helpful. They are amazingly powerful. Good job sticking together and problem solving.
11:58 is crazy, just like a switch was flipped
Definitely done that but a 15 foot hole in central Washington. 4 hour dig out

That is absolutely crazy. Now you made a ramp for others to follow into the hole.
It would pay off for one in your group to carry a 9 mm climbing rope and a climbing pulley or two to use as snatch blocks. Then you can rig to a sled or to pull downhill.
Looks like you were up the creek without a......helicopter today Matt! 🤯
Love the content. Keep up the good work
I always loved that wrap on that sled
Catch me watching in august, starting to miss the snow now😢
Just a little but longer till winter!
Hey it's August, come watch this!
🤙Teamwork makes the dream work guy's 🤙
The color combo on the 146 is really nice for a Doo... the grey with Red accent is pretty sweet.
I know it's an old video, but next time we're driving by on !94 want us to pick you up?
Look forward to these videos every day
New nickname for the 146: Old Shovelhead because it shovels so much snow on its head! 😮
God damn, wish we still got snow like this where my fam and friends used to ride. Hardly ever get enough to take the snowmobiles out anymore, so sold them off last year.
Love that 146. Matt your the best 👌
Another awesome video.... Keep em coming...
I54/155 looks like the absolute minimum to ride any deep snow without being a constant battle!

That’s one of those funny not funny can become scary or deadly kind of stuck. Good job guys
That’s absolutely insane
Watching this video 2 weeks after release, and 15:50 is some excellent foreshadowing. "I need a 165 turbo"
Badass recovery boys.
Wow. that's crazy deep. and i thought i was stuck in 3 and a ¹/2' deep 😂😂😂 looks like a blast
Best stuck of the year! Good thing for friends.
Noticed you switch radios? Seems like last year you used one on your backpack strap. This year you are pulling the big one out more. Looking forward to seeing a gear setup video later this season..?
yikes! thats alot of snow! nice parking in the trench! xD

@@jardy6155 I noticed that too. Obviously less track but also only 850 vs 9r and the smaller motor built 5-7kph more track speed
@@jardy6155 and then 3 second later in the video here talks about this and says it's 10kph more
@@burninrubber427 the 9r whip is insane but seems to weaken over time
I remember days like this with our rigs in the mid 90s, Flathead and Corbin area near the BC AB USA border. Best times of my life!
Wow the short got me here I'm extremely impressed you all got that sled out where I'm at people ride mountain sleds like it makes up for weiner. Where is this place
146! Want one for sure such a fun sled
You should try champion spark plugs I wonder if the problem is NGK or if it’s the Polaris, I’d try myself but mine hasn’t blown a plug yet
There be legends in these woods.
A very light duty winch or a come-along for those bottomless wholes.
Put some 165 rails and a track on the 146. Lol super short tunnel dancer.
Wow with the turbo and 9R down are you spending a few days with the 146?
I would need a 200 track plus turbo to keep up
Everytime I watch you guys ride in 6 ft of powder, I feel like slapping my Apex with a 121", I got stuck in 18 inches yesterday 20 ft from my front door.
that 146 is still a ripper
seems to have more speed then the r9 in that crazy snow
Is there a reason you don't use a tow recovery strap hooked up to another sled to pull out a sled, vs, a human groin pull?
Unless you have a really packed in trail you typically just end up trenching down with the sled your trying to pull with and have two stuck sleds
We thought we'd try that once. They don't pull very much, just dig in.
you need to send it with a lot of slack on the slingshot to make it work but a sled is not very sturdy for this kind of stunt, you'll end up with no bumper and teared tunnel
That was one heck of a stuck.
the 9r now the 146 the 850 turbo will feel so sweet when you get it
Hey miskoka you should boost your 9R and make it a 166 for next season to go along with your new 146 turbo freeride
Thank you.
Maybe someday I'll be able to have a ride like that.
You guys made that look easy… ✌🏻
Wow that is mad sketchy, if that bank collapses you are done!
165 turbo, you'd just get yourself in trouble where no one else could reach you. Lol
Trying to see the fun in this
Epic!

Our winters suck we're in Pennsylvania we didn't even get any snow this year yet
come to qc, the snow is not that bad and the us money is high, do your expense in canada, it will not cost much
I would have went back in the spring 😂
You guys are great...ish . Lol great work
Looks like fun but dang that's deep as heck 🙃
Hey Matt have you every heard of cains quest in Labrador. You should do it some year.
skidoo should offer some lightweight winch 😅🤣
Nice. How many times did you get stuck?
Yeah boy! You done her rite
Time to start putting winches on your sleds! 😂
Wow that was a stuck moment... thank God it wasn't face first, I imagine would of been harder to get out... wow... just wow.....
Is that a baofeng 2 meter radio?
Where do you ride your sleds? And so great video!
It’s sure appears the 146 works a lot better than the 9R and that’s coming from a cat guy !!
Literally says in the vid that it’s harder to ride the the Polaris. Coming fro a guy that owns them all. Lol
The freeride and pro are completely different chassis that ride different. The pro tends to keep the skis down and push forward. Freeride tends to be a wheelie monster.
He might be referring to the fact the clutch doesn’t fly off or explode on the 146?
Good Lord!!
I was afraid for him at first.
How long did it take you guy's to remove his machine
My 75 panther 5000 could have towed you out, next time just let me know 🤓👍
That creek makes me claustrophobic af
It is funny to hear you talk about elevation in meters then talk about how many 'inches' of snow there is. LOL
Are you ever going to get your mod boost back? Or would you go G5 in a 165?
You've been living under a rock.
Nice
How much longer are you out west for?
Yeah that's what you call a stuck. Thats why u should always have at least one person with yah. Great job getting that sled out
Muskoka needs to get on the mods... makes sleds alot better
The stock sleds already have way too many issues with reliability
Team work
Record breaking snowfalls this year.
How would a Titan or an expedition Extreme do in these conditions have you guys ever tried one with the 20 Inch track??
They are all right in deep snow but the weight kills them when climbing and the wide track makes them hard to get up on hold a edge.
They're designed for a different purpose. They'll carry a ton of weight over set up snow, but they're not designed for bottomless powder.
"Holy shit"🤣
It did look like more fun then the 9R
Next season’s backwoods bumpers better have a winch mount….. just sayin 😂
Did I miss what’s wrong with the turbo??
at repair shop, shop are loaded at this time of year
What is the paddle depth on your 146”? 2.6”, 3” or?
2.5 inch paddle on the 146. (I just checked the video of the day he first picked it up).
Lucky you didn't have to walk out of there due to mechanical failure!....you'd still be there!
Wedge🤟
That snow looks 9R deep....
