頭部のワイヤーを描く練習 : Drawing practice Head

  • 頭部のワイヤーを描く練習をしているところです。
    このワイヤーは、商業作品を描くにあたって、気分の浮き沈みに関係なくコンスタントにある一定の絵を上げていくためのものです。
    (絵が上手くなりたいと思ってこの動画シリーズをご覧になっている初心者の方へ)
    この動画の練習は正確に表記すると「私の絵のワイヤーの練習を私がしているところ」です。
    初めて絵を描く方の練習方法ではありません。
    みなさんの多少の参考になるかと思い、この動画シリーズを制作してみました。
    絵には個人の好き嫌いがあるので、好きな絵を描かれる作家さんの絵を模写するところから始めましょう。
    私も子供の頃そうしていました。
    そうしてだんだん「自分の絵」を構築し、オリジナルのものにしていきます。
    そうなると今度は「自分の絵」しか描かなくなり、形が崩れてきても自分で気づけなくなってきます。
    それを防ぎ、絵を安定させるためにこのワイヤーを使用しています。
    ①模写をして描きまくる
    ②自分の絵を構築する
    ③それを維持、または改良、発展させる
    商業作家の場合、コンスタントにある一定の水準の作業を続けなくてはなりません。
    そんな日常の中「気分」に左右されないように、こういったワイヤーを頭の中に置いて仕事をしています。
    分かりやすい形状として捉えられる方もいっらしゃると思いますので、そういった方の参考になれば幸いです。
    いつも左右に縦線を引いていますが、あれは立方体の一部だという事を説明しています。
    この立方体の補助線により、さらに立体を把握しながら描く事ができます。

    • @RoyalGuardGeine
      @RoyalGuardGeine 3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      The messiness does that.
      The human brain decodes what the eyes see in such way. If you want clean lineart to show emotions/life, you need to exacerbate the expression. But if you are messy, the imperfections are decoded as such. The more you try to make it look good, the less it will feel genuine. The foundations and proportions are made so the brain recognizes a human head, then life is something that happens on its own.
      And this stands true no matter the art. You'll only have emotions through your guitar or piano playing once you master the basics and just let the music happen through your fingers.
      It takes practice and trial and error so hard you reach a point when you don't try anymore and just do it.

  • @esperlemon
    @esperlemon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +149

    Because Yoshitomi remains silent, this video is immediately tons more effective than any tutorial I've seen. The way he builds up to the head is so simple yet effective, and has immediately shown results on my end. The silence forces you to teach yourself and better understand what you're learning.

    Finally! Thank you so much
    I'm a bit confused with how you make the sketch for proper body build, hope you can make another tutorial for the other body parts

    • @noita1337
      @noita1337 3 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      You can do the same thing he did with the boxes on different body parts. See what the form looks like, use the box to show where all the parallel parts seem to converge& to do the depth measuring, and then connect everything together. Obviously it's not as easy as it sounds, but the same point comes across - you can fit any 3D object inside a box to and from there build where everything's suppose to be. Drawing the figure is a toughie since you also need to keep in mind the arcs each part creates when its in a different direction and know how anatomical parts look when in different postions, so I'd recommend Loomis's successful drawing and figure drawing stuff to learn more. I've yet to find a teacher that tells you how to make practical use of perspective like he does, except marshall vandruff. You can find serviceable PDFs of the books online.
      As annoying as learning perspective is, Im glad I'm delving more into it now. It's a pain to learn, but very valuable and practical.
      Good luck!

    I am a huge fan of those Staedtler fineliners...I have a few sets, but my oldest set is over 5 years old, probably closer to 7-8 years old, and they still work! I found them in my old art supplies about a year ago and I can't tell which pack are my new ones and which are the old ones. Also...your videos got me back into using coloured pencil for my sketches...something I learned years ago and just stopped doing, for whatever reason.

    I used to draw heads this way untill a terrible art teacher told me it was straight up wrong, that "adding a cube on the outside of the head made no sense and was a waste of time" and that i should never ever do it. after some years i decided to ignore her advice and started using boxes again since it was way easier everytime i had to draw something in any perspective that wasn't front or side. And boy, am I glad I did it.
    That teacher sent me back years instead of helping me improve. It's good to take advice from others but sometimes you just need to do what works for you.

      Because this is NOT "how to draw". It's a recall exercise.
      He have studied, deconstructed, understood, memorized and now he's making an structural recall, so he can make better placements. A recall, is basically when you put what you have sintesized in your brain, so you can make even better structures.
      What he has shown, is an exercise on space, and where to put the elements.
      The proportions of the face, are working in another place of his brain and muscle memory.
      You need to study, not just practice. C:

      In every art tutorial I see people making the same joke/complaint. And I’m thinking, “Why don’t you by a template? Or a compass? Or use a coin or something...” I didn’t know this was something so many people had trouble with.
      Practice makes perfect, folks!
