Randy thanks, you helped me assemble my first setup. Fossi bt20 pro and dali spektor 2, I went by your reviews and I am very happy with sound I get either from Bluetooth or from turntable. Will definitely upgrade it all but I feel like thanks to you I got to get really great setup for nice value and also upgradable in future.

Insert a tube preamp in there. It will smooth out the sound. I mean something like the FX-Audio Tube 03 or the Aiyima A3. They are really cheap and if you upgrade tubes and opamps it sounds spectacular.

I think tube preamps sound more liquid and alive. Better imaging, much deeper soundstage that surrounds you and goes infinitely wide and deep, which is what real sounds do. Some of the spotlighting of images may come from distortion (I think overshoot), which also is a vinyl characteristic, but it's a really nice kind of distortion. Mostly I think it's a result of the huge voltage headroom.

I have the a01 hooked up to some old Def Tech 100s as mains and some cheapie Kenwood surrounds...I can't complain. I've gone through setups using NAD amps/CD players, Boston Acoustics/Paradigm/KLH speaker set ups. Just depends on finding a combo that your ears like. Now we just need to bring back Radio Shack, Circuit City and Fry's Electronics...and my thirst for life.

I really want Aiyima to release a pure standalone amp. No tone controls, no Bluetooth, no preamp, no pretty case, not even a volume knob. Just all the R&D channeled into a sophisticated and powerful sound for an unbeatable price. Like the A07, but unbridled.

These amps are ok for what they are, however, what I have never seen was a review with them utilizing the Sub Out, specifically the dedicated RCA sub outs (ie Fosi BT30D) What I found was they will work pretty well with a sub as long as your using an RCA cable from the amp to the active sub, however, they do not work well with wireless sub transmitters, I've tried about dozen different brand wireless subwoofer transmitters, and they all generated noise on the sub end, reminding me of listening to AM Radio with alternator noise coming through the speakers. Ive tried the 2.4 up to the 5.8 ghz transmitters, no luck.

Off topic comment, but THANKKK YOUUUU C.A.M!!!
I've been for the longest time trying to give life to some old Philips speakers my families had for ages but never used again just cuz as time moved on we required it less. It became inconvenient.
But because EOF your reviews and recommendations I got myself a fosi audio amp/dac for a cheap price, no less one you recommended, and I honestly love the sound. Even with old speakers, for my broke self, living that student life, it really blew me away, even with a little EQ treatment. Sounds nice, and saved tons of money, but couldn't have done it if it wasn't for your content. So thx ✊💪

I went with a combination of old and new. A FiiO BTA30Pro (as DAC + BT5.2 Transmitter & Receiver, $125) paired (L/R RCA out) with a vintage Hitachi SR-503L ($120) and Marantz EQ20 ($120) [or Hitachi SR-903($134)]. I could forego the EQ20 in this stack in favor of the tone controls on the Hitachi, but I love the manual EQ with that Marantz.
The BTA30Pro is full of features. Connected via USB-C for signal and power, it supports 24bit/384KHz and a full range of BT codec (LDAC, AptX HD, AptXLL, AptX, AAC, SBC). It can pair with two devices in TX mode and has its own Volume control knob. It also has connections for Optical In/Out and Coax.
I did upgrade the antenna to 12dB for about $15 (AliEx) to increase the range across the apartment. The BTA30Pro is well constructed, too (ALU shell).
I own two BTA30Pro's, one set in RX mode for the family room (LDAC, with Android phone in dev mode; sending to the Hitachi SR-903 + Dali Spektors) and one in the office, which I use mostly in DAC mode with the vintage gear (Hitachi SR-503L/Marantz EQ20) and a couple sets of bookshelf speakers (Sony SS-CSD1's, Mordaunt Short 20i's)...alternating at times to TX mode for wireless convenience (BT headphones, BT earhooks/IEM's, BT earbuds, or the BTR5 w/cabled IEM's).

I have Soney SS-DX50 speakers from my old stereo from the early 2000s... they're great speakers still, I'm running them through an Aiyima a07 with a subwoofer running passthrough to the Sony's. I can't turn it up past 50% without it being just too loud! It came with a 36v 6A power supply but I've ordered the 48v 5A one just for fun. I'd ordered it before I heard it with the original power supply which I think is fine. Using a Topping DX3 Pro+ for DAC.

The traditional amps are large and deal with different inputs while the smaller amps such as Aiyima have a limited number of inputs. My setuo: laptop, dac, a07 then sub and speakers. Thanks!

My set-up is the same as yours. However, I am so very fortunate to have been able to switch out my A07 amp for an older NAD 214 amp and it's far better in all ways except size, weight and efficiency. My A07 simply taking up space on my desk now. Just compare amps like we compare 70's muscle cars to todays little speedsters.
