  • About the 50+ kilometers of wind skiing in Arinsal, I’ve never skied with that type of weather before but I did it. Actually, I was at a stand still or the wind blew me back up the slope, skiing backward that is, it was quite scary as I thought the wind was going to take me away into the air…uffff…Thank God that I made it to the top in one piece on the chairlift, thank God that the wind blew up the mountain and not side way otherwise it would have been extremely dangerous sitting on the chairlift with the wind blowing 50kph side way…I’ve skied in all weather but not this madness.
Alright next, I will see if I would want to ski in all areas of Grandvalira as the links are open but what I don’t want is to be stuck somewhere or the runs to certain areas are too icy as they are in the shade. Y’all will be the first to know if I did, y’all will have my full report.
Please do let me know if y’all have any questions or anything else to add, comments/suggestions perhaps.

Thank you so much for the video. I'm looking to see if public transportation works well there to go ski. I'm going there at 2024 February and planning to get a hotel in La Vella to enjoy dinner at restaurants and shop at night. Do you think is good? Downtown + bus. I couldn't understand in your video where were you hosted.

@CassianoTartari Hi Cassiano! May I ask which Andorran resort you are going to ski at or you are planning to ski at all of them? How long are you staying in Andorra? If you stay in Andorra La Vella, you will have to check the bus routes to take you up to Grandvalira, Arcalís, Arinsal and Pal with all your ski gear on, then take the bus back downtown. That would a trip going skiing every morning and then back. Unless your hotel provides you rides to and back, I myself would not do it. I would stay at the ski resort then organize rides down to Andorra la Vella and back to the hotel at the resort. La Massana for example, is very close to Andorra la Vella and has the gondola up to Pal ski station or free bus ride to Arinsal ski resort and town. From La Massana you can also go to Arcalís ski station as well. Or you could stay at Encamp where there’s a Funicamp right in the middle to town to take you up to Grandvalira ski station where you could ski in all areas but close enough to go down to Andorra la Vella for shopping and dinners. Me, I have a car so I can just drive to anywhere in a fews as Andorra is a very small Principality but lots of traffic every morning and evening when the ski resorts shut down or schools for that matter.
From La Massana to Andorra la Vella is about 7m car ride but buses will take longer. I suppose there are buses down at Andorra La Vella to take you to probably to the main Funicamp, Gondola station, etc…but that will take a big chunk out of the time you have on your ski trip. Hope this helps and happy skiing ⛷️

@@whatemmanuellesees excellent explanation. We are going to be there for 7 days. My idea is to go visit the entire Grandvalira and maybe also go to Arcalis 1 day. I was thinking about Encamp also to stay. Thank you, helped a lot!

@CassianoTartari Encamp is a quick access to Grandvalira ski areas also not so far from La Massana, a town you must go through to get to Arcalís. Encamp would be very convenient, however, it’s a sleepy town so nothing much going on but you will be in Andorra la Vella for après-ski so I reckon it will be fine staying in Encamp. You will do a lot of skiing in 7 days as the Funicamp will be at your doorstep.
