If I had to take a guess on the blue SP and why it was so sticky, it looks like it had one of those overlay stickers on it. You've probably seen them before, cheap stickers people use to wrap consoles with so they look "cool" like I know a friend that has a Wii but he bought some like Bakugon sticker set for it that fits the top and sides of the console. I'm guessing it had that and someone took it off, you can kinda tell by the way there's a perfect square where there's no residue around the speaker.
That Dsi has The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition on it from the looks of things. Pretty rare to have official since it was only available as a download like 10 years ago for a limited time.
I had that game on my DSi but an ex-friend decided he was going to steal the console from me and I never got it back 😭 I dropped him from my life immediately.
I recently bought a new Nintendo 3ds xL and it’s pre owned but I plan to keep it in shiny condition by cleaning it every other day of the week. I think since some of us were once kids when kids had those consoles they didn’t really understood care for them very well. Could explain why it’s grimy either that or being stored away for so long and dirt/dust got gathered on them? 😅
I assume they were likely used by young kids. Nintendo consoles are aimed at families so there are often lots of very young kids using them. I had a DS when I was like 5 years old and I was the type of kid who was very careful so mine was well taken care of but most little kids don’t really understand being careful with that sort of thing. I really want to go find my old DS now. I don’t know where it is but it’s probably somewhere in the attic. I would be surprised if there was any scratches or anything on it, I kept that thing in a case 24/7.

My favorite part was the surprise that you scored a couple GBA SP 101s. I have the 001 and didn't realize how much better the brightness is on the 101. CONGRATS! 🔥🔥🔥
Your 001 does have a couple advantages though: Pixel response time is much better than on a 101, so games can get faster before you get lost in the motion blur. And, it's more of a question of preference, but the 001 has the same somewhat washed out colors of the original GBA, and that's what the games' colors were designed to be shown on, so some games look oversaturated on a 101 -- but of course that might be a plus depending what you like.

GBC & GBA often have that problem with their power switches. It either doesn't work at all, only when in the right position, or makes the power light go red or cut out randomly. The problem is corrosion in the power switch, probably from being carried in a pocket and getting sweat in there over time. The fix is to take it apart, put a couple drops of isopropyl rubbing alcohol inside the metal-and-plastic slide switch mechanism for the power switch, and then push the slider part back and forth a zillion times. The same applies to crackly / cranky volume dials and sliders. The same MAY apply to the DMGs, but in my experience those don't get cranky nearly as often as the newer models that used smaller switches. The blue SPs are a rare US exclusive release and are highly collectible here in the UK in fact avid collector's are paying £100 minimum just to own them. I was unaware that you could play Gameboy games on the DS until i watched your video thank you for that bit of information.
Those Wii consoles that don't read disks would make excellent softmod machines, since you can just play games off a hard drive attached to the USB ports instead.
I have the exact same red and black ds lite with the exact same broken hinge. I got it loaded up with a flashcard and a bunch of ROMs, it's pretty sweet for a very budget friendly way to play ds and GBA games.

First of all wow & ur very fortunate to have found & bought them. Also, I wish I found & bought a few from a GoodWill near me.
5:39 italian ds
The blue SPs are a rare US exclusive release and are highly collectible here in the UK in fact avid collector's are paying £100 minimum just to own them. I was unaware that you could play Gameboy games on the DS until i watched your video thank you for that bit of information.
Those Wii consoles that don't read disks would make excellent softmod machines, since you can just play games off a hard drive attached to the USB ports instead.
That red and black one at the start has the same problem as our 3ds!
That was a really good video and I hope to see more.
My favourite consoles were the DSi, DS and the 2DS xl....
I have the exact same red and black ds lite with the exact same broken hinge. I got it loaded up with a flashcard and a bunch of ROMs, it's pretty sweet for a very budget friendly way to play ds and GBA games.
Pick up your cross and follow Jesus! The world is quickly headed for destruction, and sooner or later you will have to sit at the judgement seat and give an account for your actions. Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life! - Revelation 3:20.
Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God tho.
Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc and you should get a response. Have a blessed day!
It's incredible you found that stuff! The goodwill by me is awful...the workers filter out anything good and set out the lesser grade stuff and usually broken electronics. A bit 3rd world unfortunately. Great flip'n pickups!
9:20 The stickers where peeled off but the sticky-ness made gunk stick to it
"I've never done any repair work on a DMG, I can't imagine it's too difficult" buddy, good luck with fixing those vertical lines on that one DMG lmao
That sticky gba sp looked it had a skin/stickers on it and was removed and that is the glue
Since the Gamecubes have broken disc drives what you could do (to fix one of them) is homebrew a wii to rip one of your actual physical copies to a sd card then they have this board that you could sodder into the gamecube to read sd cards but I don’t remember the name of it... I’ve seen a yt video about a month ago
That's a very good idea.
Old gameboys was lit 😂😂. We as kids was outside and around other kids. Stuff gets nasty 😂😂
The AGS 101 was a CRAZY find. I'm having a hard time finding one for a reasonable price at ALL.
All the Gameboy SPs can be sold for like $100 is refurbished and can even be sold for more if you do a IPS, and Aluminum shell mod
The SP's, and Pokemon Sapphire bring me back to my childhood.
I remember getting a DSi from a Unique Thrift for like $15, but it was on sale, so it was just $7.50! It works and everything (minus the obligatory DSi shoulder button issues)!
It’s crazy how cheap you could get video game stuff before the last few years lol
@@jrob0021 So true! You got really lucky there! Also, for those DS Lite systems, I believe there's a Nerf case that you can get that just goes around the system, and helps with the hinges bit. They're fairly expensive, but it's up to you!
2 weeks ago I bought a 3ds xl at a thriftstore, it's the red version and it's like in mint condition. For get this, 10 dollars.
@@marcellachine5718 Super lucky find! I gotta check out the the thrift stores as of late, since I remember them having DKCR and MKWii for $6 each. Afaik, my friend grabbed Mario Kart.
A lot of times with GameCube disk read errors, the laser potentiometer needs to be adjusted. Its a little screw on a circuit board on the disk drive. U use a multimeter to measure the resistance as you turn until it gets to where its supposed to be. And im talking TINYY adjustments.
The blue GBA most likely had stickers on it and that’s why it looks like that
I use ammonia to clean those. It's so easy. Way better than alcohol.
I’ve purchased a few from their online shop but sometimes they end up going for waaaaaaay over eBay prices which I don’t understand. Great video!
People on goodwill got money to burn apparently
i wish i had a wii with gamecube compatablity and a bunch of gamecube games
15:52 I sometimes have this issue with my Gameboy Advance SP that is the exact same color: flame red
you know I rebuild games like this on the side as a hobby and am always looking for lots like this. I spend hours searching auction sites every day and hardly ever see anything like this anywhere. best lot I have seen was 14 super famicom consoles for $150 and half of them were beyond repair
Right, this is hard to find!
Kids are rough on stuff lol those ds lites where well loved like most
this was so satisfiing to watch, thank you!
Good luck fixing everything especially the new 2ds xl, They are some of the hardest top screens to replace
that white broken ds was actually my old one, but l dropped it and it fell, but that's awesome!
whenever I see videos like these it makes me want to get into the hobby but then I remember I wrecked my joy con trying to change the shell and probably shouldn't be trying it on multiple hundred dollar consoles
You could practice on cheaper stuff. But yeah, it definitely takes some guts to open these things up and risk it all when trying to fix stuff (some stuff is pretty easy, but it can definitely get pretty difficult)
9:17 Most likely a cheap sticker/wrap that didn't get removed properly
That blue gba sp with the sticky residue looks like the past owner might have customised it with a sticker to change the design and then peeled it off to donate it, deffo looks like the kind of residue you get from that stuff especially with the way its shaped
Lucky with those 101's
Check out my 2nd channel, I do daily unboxing videos of trade ins I get and other random video games I buy: th-cam.com/users/JacobRTWO
@@clatz that’s unfortunate
Hey Jacob how do you fix the ps 3 disc goes in but the console doesn't read the disc and the console makes
Weird noises when the disc is in
@@xVelocityMC just swap the drive from another broken ps3, that has a working drive. Easy.
Remember, they have to be the exact same model number on the sticker. Sometimes they look the same on the outside, but not on the inside. Different revisions
The DS is a great product. I just got an old one ever since then I haven’t really messed around with my other electronics whole lot it has been really fun
i remember back in 2009 or so around that time, i was so desperate for any entertainment, i only played Nintendo Gameboy for a long time. i was always bored in my room and had nothing to do and my parents were pretty poor and it was the only entertainment i had and one of the best. couple of years later i remember that i was able to afford my own consoles and a powerful PC. i look back at it fondly now
I bought a fat OLED PSVita from my goodwill locally with the original box, and two games for 29.99. Took it home and let it charge for an hour or so, and it came on just fine with no issues. Goodwill can be a gold mine sometimes.
That gunked up blue sp has an obvious glue residue from stickers that were peeled off. Quite obvious when you look around the speaker area with no residue with straight lines around it.
We all spend Billions of Dollors on Nintendo sometimes in our Lives
from Childhood to Adulthood so many Memories especially when things like Pokémon, Mario bros, Smash bros & other things like that Exist
“I bought 29 Nintendo consoles” but I count 30 in the thumbnail.
This has me wanting to bid on a Goodwill Auctions lot but I fear I won’t be as lucky as you… Honestly the working consoles made it more than worth it
Nice Haul!
5:44 LOL why was it set to italian? 😆
9:17 this SP probably had a skin or wrap on it which is why it’s so sticky
I wish I could buy one Console for myself
?
Ok
Dude found a New 2DS, lucky
Well the one with the scratches and cracks I would replace apart of the shell and the wiis with the missing Gameboy cargrage doors I would get some with different color doors like the red one with a black door it would look so cool with that
My first Nintendo game was the original GameBoy. I owned all of the GameBoys (including the Pocket, Color, Advance, Advance SP, and Micro). I also owned every DS model. I’m actually looking for a DS or Micro that plays GBA games. I still own 2 3DSXLs and a 2DSXL. I also had a Wii and GameCube which I miss both.
Even if the white dsi has a bad battery you could easily repair it with a small screwdriver and a spare battery
A console is considered dead when it can’t do that one thing…. Play games. That’s how it is with older disc based systems.
So Cool. You saved some money
Send them to OddTinkering
On the Gamecubes if the cd drives are bad, mod them with the GC Loader SD replacement.
Still better than DK Oldies
A suggestion: could you do a video showing various consoles and how they compare to each other in terms of graphics power? Id love to see an xbox 360 vs a PS3 to see whos more poweful.
that blue sp had a decal covering the whole thing and thats the leftover glue
10:59 Is it just me or are there a few vertical lines in the screen on the right
There is a little dial on the GameCube motherboard that lets you power up the lasers to read easier. After years they weaken so that may be all they need.
The best I have ever found at a goodwill was a wii with the wrong controller. And your telling me…. YOU FOUND 29 GAME CONSOLES?!
That's awesome that you're doing that
My favorite is the game boy!!
Our local goodwill has NOTHING like that!!
I know I’m late to this video but the “coke” sp was actually just a sp that had a skin on it you can tell by the gaps on the side it just looks like they skin sticky stuff wasn’t cleaned off
Either I'm going insane, or I totally can count 30 consoles on the thumbnail
If I hadn't seen this video I wouldn't have known that goodwill had a website. I just bought my first Gameboy Advance SP! $80
