OMG!! 😱😱😱 FINALLY!!!!! How many years have I searched for this song? I was little when this music was on TV and on the radio. I loved it so much!!! Especially the part where he says: "Bananas bananas!" This music remained imprinted in my memory until I finally found it today after several unsuccessful attempts. What happiness!!! 😭😭😭
This band was really great in the 80s. They had a very well-engineered sound that sounded modern in those days. One thing catchy about their music was the use of the vocoder in many of their songs. Their albums are hard to find these days. You can call this sort of music Bubble Gum, but for us who grew up in the '80s, these guys are legends. I remember hearing 707 for the first time in 1988 on Radio Thohoyandou. The sound was out of this world. 707 is the title track of the album this song (Money Money) is taken from. Alec Om Khaoli was quite adventurous when it came to creating beautiful sounds.
Luci Black I’ve been in search of any information on them as I just discovered them last week. It’s so hard to come by something. This helped ease my curiosity
This music was playing in most African night clubs in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in SA .....it’s a shame attitudes with the youth don’t understand the struggle
