    These handlebars here have everything stock including the brake line...if you look at my latest video it is showing the same bike already finished with 16 inch ape hangers... I still was able to use stock clutch and throttle cables I only had to replace the brake line... I have a video coming up showing the installation , extending the wires and running them inside the handlebars... not so expensive that way you only have to buy handlebars brake line and wiring you can do yourself

    Just added 1/2 inch to the dog bones and it looks great. Its winter here so have to wait for a ride. Hope it avoids bottoming.

    Did you run stock cables and the stock risers with those Harley handlebars? I was thinking of putting 16” on mine but can’t bring myself to spending so much on new cables.

    I'm surprised that you have no problem at this height ? With your weight on the bike it should drop by 1 inch assurely ? I did my measurement and I am afraid to drop at the height that you dropped. .

      I ended up raising it up about 1 inch from what you see here, because the buyer is riding with his wife on the back...if he was riding solo it would have been OK. This is the nice part of doing your own...you can play with it and not be stuck with what they sell you. I also tightened the spring on the shock little bit...one side of the shock is adjustable by loosing up one lock nut and turning the other to put more pressure on the spring...that helped a lot
      Thanks for your interest!

    How did you lower the front? And if you were to put a 21 up front, how would you raise the front?

    Did you just paint the front forks or where they powder coated

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are powder coated ... however you can get good results with Rust-oleum Gloss Black engine paint in the rattle can...I get it in Home Depot for $5 ... It will take over night to dry... I use it on touching up frames and it looks great too

    I plan to drop my roadstar on the back, did you add length to drop ? Is it a lot harder than Original ?
    Was your Dyna bar has some fitting to put it on this bike ? Or it's easy and simple ?

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you will have to lengthened the links to lower the back of the bike...you will be surprised how little you need to add to drop the bike. The shock have 2 nuts and threaded end on one side. I cranked the spring down just little to stiffen the travel bit.
      The handlebars will go right on...no surprises there.
      GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST IN MY CHANNEL!

    I saw this video and the first thing that came to mind is this guy never actually rides this motorcycle, if he did he would not be removing suspension travel and placing the pipes so low they drag against the street in even the simplest of right hand turns. This motorcycle is simply for show..... not go. Consider these point when watching videos of this sort.

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are OEM Harley bars from DYNA STREET BOB... I believe they are 10 inch tall. I get them at Harley swop meets usually for about $40 ...got like 3 sets at the moment...I used them on a bunch of different bikes already...just love them!
